As a department, we shared various strategies to deepen vocabulary learning. We came together to discuss scholarly articles that support the strategies we intended to try out with our own students.

So what:

As a unit, we would like to incorporate quick, engaging games to spark interest and support vocabulary retention. We are exploring a whole-unit approach so that students can practise the vocabulary they’ve learned in a more spontaneous and meaningful way.

Now what:

We are kick-starting the Vocabulary Challenge for Primary 1 and 2, as the syllabus for these levels is already stable. For the other levels, we are exploring vocabulary activities that are sustainable and practical, enabling students to make vocabulary learning part of their routine.
