Everyone has different struggles because not everyone is suite to live in this American system. For example, what actions they choose to make under different circumstances as well as having more freedom to do some things and less to do others.

Sure people can endure for different amounts of time based off their willpower and resolve but everyone has their limit. So if I were to play devils advocate I would say that yes any good person can become corrupt is the situation was long enough, severe enough, and will shattering enough to corrupt that specific person. Though being an anime lover, I want to believe that some people don't have limits when it comes to staying true to themselves, so this was and still is a difficult question for me.
