Daniel Kahneman' s Thinking fast and slow book is a land mark exploration of the two systems that drive our minds: "system 1" (fast, intuitive, emotional) and "system 2" (slow, deliberate, logical). Drawing on decades of research, including the work that earned Novel Prize, Kahneman masterfully reveals the profound influence on cognitive biases and heuristics on our decisions, often leading us astray. This insightful book challenges our assumptions about rationality, offering practical wisdom on how to recognize and guard against mental glitches in both personal and professional life. A truly transformative read that will forever change how you perceive your own thinking.

By: Prasanna Kumar Das

Class - VI

Ria was known as the helpful girl in school. She was always willing to lend a hand to her classmates. Whether it was helping with a difficult math problem or carrying books for a friend, Ria was there to assist. One day, her classmate, Emma, forgot her lunch at home. Ria noticed Emma's distress and offered to share her own lunch with her. Emma was grateful and thanked Ria for her kindness. The teacher, Mrs. Smith, witnessed the act of kindness and praised Ria in front of the class. Ria's selfless act inspired others to be more helpful and kind. From that day on, Ria's classmates looked up to her as a role model, and her kindness created a ripple effect of goodwill in the school. Ria's actions showed that even small acts of kindness can make a big difference in someone's life.

Name:- Liza Rani Biswal

Class:- vii

The Whispering Forest 🌲✨

Long ago, in a small village beside a mysterious forest, there lived a curious girl named Mira. Everyone in the village warned, “Never enter the Whispering Forest. The trees there speak, and those who go in never come back the same.”

But Mira loved mysteries.

One evening, as the sky turned purple and gold, she heard a faint voice carried by the wind.

“Help… help us…”

The sound came from the forest.

Her heart pounded, but curiosity was stronger than fear. She stepped past the crooked wooden fence and into the forest. The moment she entered, the leaves rustled though there was no wind.

“Welcome, brave one,” whispered the trees.

Mira looked around. The trunks glowed faintly, and tiny blue lights floated in the air like fireflies.

“What happened here?” Mira asked.

“The Shadow King has stolen our heart,” said an old oak tree. “Without it, the forest will slowly fade.”

“Where is it?” Mira asked.

“In the Crystal Cave beyond the silver river,” the trees replied.

Guided by glowing fireflies, Mira crossed the river on stepping stones and climbed a hill until she reached the cave. Inside, she saw a dark shadow guarding a bright green crystal.

The Shadow King growled, “Leave now!”

But Mira remembered the forest’s whispers. She picked up a small mirror from her bag and reflected the cave’s glowing light toward the shadow. The light grew brighter and brighter until the shadow dissolved like smoke.

The crystal floated gently into Mira’s hands.

When she returned it to the forest center, the trees shone brighter than ever. Flowers bloomed instantly, and the wind sang through the leaves.

“You have saved us,” the forest whispered.

From that day on, Mira became known as the Guardian of the Whispering Forest, the only person who could hear the trees speak.

And sometimes, if you walk quietly through the woods at sunset, you might hear them whispering her name. 🌟🌳

Aditya Narayan Das

Class-7

Time moves quietly, yet it reveals many truths that we fail to understand in the moment. When events first happen, our emotions often cloud our judgment, making it difficult to see the deeper meaning behind them. But as time passes, clarity slowly begins to appear. As the saying goes, “Time is the wisest counselor of all.”

Often, truth does not appear immediately. It waits patiently, hidden behind confusion and uncertainty. With time, we begin to see things differently and understand the lessons life was trying to teach us. “Time reveals what the heart once struggled to understand.”

In this way, time becomes a silent teacher guiding us toward truth, wisdom, and understanding.

By : Sushree sangita patra

Class: 9

Book Review: The Metamorphosis

The Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka is a powerful and thought-provoking novella that explores themes of isolation, identity, and human relationships. The story begins with the famous line: “When Gregor Samsa woke one morning from troubled dreams, he found himself transformed in his bed into a monstrous insect.”

Gregor Samsa, a hardworking salesman, suddenly becomes helpless after his strange transformation. As the story progresses, his family slowly begins to see him as a burden rather than a loved one. His loneliness is expressed in the line: “I cannot make you understand what is happening inside me.”

Through Gregor’s tragic situation, Kafka shows how society sometimes values people only for their usefulness. Overall, The Metamorphosis is a deeply symbolic and philosophical story that leaves readers reflecting on compassion, identity, and the reality of human relationships.🙂

By: Sushree sangita patra

Class :9

In the future, AI will transform studying from a rigid routine into a personalized journey. Instead of a "one-size-fits-all" curriculum, AI platforms will analyze each student's unique pace and style, providing custom lessons that target their specific weaknesses.Furthermore, AI-powered tutors will offer 24/7 support, guiding students through difficult problems using the Socratic method rather than just giving answers. By breaking down language barriers with real-time translation and assisting students with disabilities through adaptive tools, AI ensures that education is accessible to everyone. Ultimately, AI won't replace teachers; it will empower students to learn more efficiently and deeply than ever before.

By - sai sundar das

Class - 6th

"The Lighthouse" 🚀

Story from: "The Alchemist"

Author: Paulo Coelho 📚

A lighthouse stood tall by the sea, its beam cutting through the darkness, guiding ships safely to shore. A young boy, curious about its purpose, asked, "Why do you shine so bright?" The lighthouse replied, "I light the way so others find their path. It's not about me; it's about the journey of those who rely on my light." The boy pondered this wisdom and realized that true joy lies in helping others find their journey. The lighthouse, once just a structure, became a symbol of selfless service and guidance. Its light illuminated more than just the sea – it lit up the boy's understanding of purpose. The story teaches us that our greatest fulfillment comes from guiding and supporting others, making their path a little brighter. 🌟

Anwesha mohanty

Class 9

The rain had a way of making everything honest.

It didn’t ask questions. It didn’t pretend. It simply fell—soft, steady, and unavoidable—like the truths people spent their whole lives trying to escape.

Aarav stood by the window, watching droplets race down the glass. Each one carried a reflection—distorted, trembling, fleeting. Just like memories.

He used to believe life had a rhythm. A pattern. Study hard, dream big, love deeply—and everything would somehow fall into place. That’s what everyone said. That’s what he believed.

Until it didn’t.

Until friendships turned into silence without explanation. Until promises faded without goodbye. Until the people who once felt like home became strangers you scrolled past.

“Life isn’t cruel,” his mother once told him. It’s just… real.”

At the time, he didn’t understand. Reality didn’t feel like something neutral. It felt sharp. It felt unfair.

It felt like sitting in a crowded room and still feeling completely alone.

Aarav reached for his phone, scrolling through old messages. Conversations filled with laughter, late-night talks, plans that were never fulfilled. Words that once meant everything now just… existed.

He realized something strange.

Nothing had truly disappeared.

The feelings were still there. The memories still existed. The people still lived somewhere under the same sky.

But the connection—the invisible thread that made it all meaningful—had quietly broken. And no one ever talks about that part.

No one tells you that growing up isn’t about gaining everything you want.

It’s about learning to live with what you lose.

A sudden gust of wind pushed the window slightly open. Cold air rushed in, carrying the scent of wet earth. Aarav closed his eyes for a moment.

There was something comforting about it.

For the first time, he wasn’t trying to understand everything. He wasn’t asking why things changed, or why people leave, or why emotions don’t stay consistent.

He just… let himself feel.

The sadness.

The confusion.

The quiet acceptance.Because maybe emotions weren’t meant to be solved.

Maybe they were meant to be experienced.

He opened his eyes and looked outside again. The rain hadn’t stopped—but it didn’t feel heavy anymore.

It felt… real.

And maybe that was enough.

Because life, in the end, isn’t about holding onto perfect moments forever.

It’s about learning how to stand in the middle of imperfection… and still find a reason to breathe, to feel, to continue.

Aarav stepped away from the window.

The world outside was still uncertain. Still unpredictable. Still unfinished.

But so was he.

And for the first time, that didn’t scare him.

By-Sushree sangita patra

Class-9

Before the Coffee Gets Cold by Toshikazu Kawaguchi is a quiet, emotional novel set in a small, hidden café in Tokyo—a place where people can travel back in time.

But there are rules.

You can only go back to a moment that has already happened.

You cannot change the present, no matter what you do.

And most importantly… you must return before your coffee gets cold.

The story follows four different people, each carrying regret, love, or unanswered questions. A woman who wants to confront her past lover. A wife who wants to receive a letter her husband never got to give. A sister who wishes to see someone she lost. And a mother hoping to meet the child she couldn’t watch grow.

Each of them sits in the same chair, takes the same journey, and faces the same truth:

Time doesn’t change for them.

But they do.

Through these journeys, the novel gently explores emotions we often avoid—unfinished conversations, silent goodbyes, and the weight of things left unsaid. It shows that even if the past cannot be rewritten, understanding it can bring peace.

The beauty of the story lies in its simplicity.

It doesn’t try to fix life.

It simply reminds us…

to say what we feel while we still can,

to value the moments we have,

and to accept that some things are meant to stay as memories.

Because in the end, it’s not about changing the past—

it’s about learning how to live with it.

By-Sushree sangita patra

Class-9
