In Homer’s “The Odyssey” figurative language is used to show imagery, how the Muse sings through Homer’s pen unto his paper. When Homer is asking for the Muse’s help he states, “Sing in me Muse, and through me tell the story of that man (Homer).”Homer gives us an image of the Muse’s words flowing through Homer unto paper. Homer paints an incredible picture of the zmuse helping tell the story of Odysseus.

In Homer’s “The Odyssey” Homer shows us Odysseus’ heart breaking conflict and loss of everything he loves. Homer tells that even Zeus was against Homer when he states, “What of my sailing, the, from Troy? What of those years of rough adventure, weathered under Zeus (Homer).” When Odysseus tries to sail home from Troy, Zeus throws everything he can at him to slow him down and increase his suffering.
