Thank you so much for adjusting to meet our supply demand regarding chart paper and colored markers. It was appreciated by all! You ladies did a fabulous job!
What went well--teachers loved being able to walk out with things they could use for Unit 1. They were grateful for the time, knowing that once we are back at school they will be pressed for time to get a notebook organized or create anchor charts. We had great sharing of ideas.
Thoughts...not knowing how many were coming made it hard to plan snacks,
If I had gotten 25 people we would not have had enough of many of the supplies.
Selfishly, I wish I could have seen what the notebook session and the teaching session looked like for my grade level, but that's just because I heard so many great things from participants!

Today's sessions went SO well! Thank you for all of the supplies! *Participants were very excited to be given TIME to delve into the UOS kits!
*Since the 17-18 school year hasn't begun, there were several teachers who didn't have their UOS kits with them... they had to turn them in for inventory at their local schools at the end of last year, and they weren't able to check them out before today's workshop. They were able to share with participants who brought theirs, so it worked out! It shouldn't be an issue for the rest of the meetings!
*There were a few participants who only brought their cell phones as their 'electronic device'- which made it difficult for them to work on the Google Docs template - We might want to make sure everyone knows to bring their laptop or something they can easily type with for the next sessions :O)
*There were some AMAZING ideas bouncing around today with our UOS teaching points, anchor charts, and notebook sessions! Great job, everyone! xxoo

Anchor chart sessions seemed to be the shortest...many of the participants finished their charts in 30 minutes but they all appreciated the time to chat and get ideas from each other.
THANK YOU for running out and getting anchor chart paper and markers...they were very much appreciated!
Thoughts for next time...running the copies back to back didn't work out so well since these were teaching points that needed to be posted on the anchor charts but because we didn't have as many participants as expected, everyone was able to just take two of each of the sets so they could use both sides on their charts.
My session also ran out of chart paper...as each participant needed to make 4 posters. But, I was able to borrow some from another grade level so it worked out.
Participants also weren't thrilled with the lack of color choices in markers...us primary teachers like lots of bright colors!!!

Thank you THANK YOU for running after extra supplies for me. That was incredibly helpful and I appreciate it very much!

**Most teachers appreciated the resources they received in my session. This is new to MS, so I think the others were overwhelmed and anxious.

**Some teachers came to me asking for materials for their friend who couldn't make it. I didn't give away the binders but I did handout a couple packets for them to take with them. My mistake because I ran out of copies. :-(

**A few teachers thought it would've been better to have the "make and take" right after the May 30th workshop and not at the end of the summer.

**Will need more page protectors, tabs, post its, and copy paper for next time.

**Many had not received the kit yet.

**Not many ate the chocolate I brought.

Today's session went really well. Teachers appreciated the resources, but they really loved any additional tidbits or information added to what was available online; for example, there were a few charts used in the mid-workshop sessions that were not officially created or available online - they really appreciated the ones created for those activities. I could have used more sheet protectors, but this was also partly my fault. I was fooled by the small size of my first group, and probably gave out too much. The last two groups were pretty large, so we ran out. Overall, I think this first round of sessions went pretty well.

Overall, our rotations went well. Everyone seemed extremely grateful for the time to work together to create some of the tools for the first unit. One difficulty we faced was that there were some teachers new to the county who were completely new to UOS. They didn't have their kits or computers. For the next unit, I'd love to have the larger, lined chart paper since that what most people in my rotations were looking for. Thanks so much for being willing to bring the extra paper and markers!!!

I feel the session with well. The teachers liked the fact that they were given notebooks and supplies to begin their toolkits. Besides from running out of color paper, copies, and binders, there were enough supplies. Surprisingly, teachers did not use as many sticky notes; however, they loved the tabs to separate the different sections in their binders. I think for the next session I need to give more resources for small group instruction. There were several teachers who were ready to take their notebooks to the next phase. Thanks for having the supplies in the room when I got there and being present in the hallway.
