When I printed the absentee rosters for the science teachers, the printer cut off about 8 kids from each house. Once I realized this, it was an easy fix.

Some of the kids who were absent two days in a row were a bit upset about not getting to pick their sessions, but it's too hard to keep trying to chase students down otherwise!
