Henry Hagg Lake is where families in the surrounding areas meet up for various activities. Fishing, boating, kayaking, canoeing, ziplining, hiking, and biking are all common pass times in the area. Especially for middle/high school students, many find employment or just casual outings at this location.

Routine fishermen know of the variety of fish in the region as well as the climate in the area. Forestry workers know the local species of plants and animals, and also the invasive ones. Adventures Without Limits is a program that frequents the area and works with those with and without disabilities and involves them in the outdoors. They know about adapting to different situations to be inclusive, which is a common part of the culture in the area.

Anna & Abby's Yard

Anna & Abby's Yard is a park that was able to blossom in the light of a great tragedy. Sadly two lives of the community were lost too soon. But their mother took this to spread love and kindness. She helped create love rocks as fun objects for people to find and share. She also helped raise funds to renovate a local park renaming it after her lost daughters.

The youth camps that frequent this area hold knowledge of teaching children and how important they are to a community. The various athletes that visit know the sports that they have dedicated their time to, and are willing to share if you ask to join them for a bit. The city librarians who have a small extension of the library at this location hold so much knowledge regarding historic books in the region and how to get children involved in literature.

Pacific University

Pacific University has had a long history in the area, and not all of it is pleasant. It started as an Indian Boarding School, and it left a harsh mark on the people who attended and on the region as a whole. This is still being actively recognized and there is a memorial to those sent to the school. Nowadays it is a college where many people in the region find their higher education.

A large portion of the teachers in the region either get their degrees or finish up their Master's at this college. This is also the for many of the dentists in the area. Each of them holds great knowledge of how to take care of people in their field, but also being trained in the community where they work helps build a feeling of community a casualness not always present between parents and professionals.

Tillamook Forest Center

The Tillamook Forestry Center is more than just a visitors center for the local State Forests. It is a place that educates people on fire safety and tells stories about the long history of forest management in the region. It has changed throughout the years but it remains a consistent stop for kids and adults alike.

The greatest experts, besides Smokey Bear, are the Department of Forestry staff who have an in-depth knowledge of the forest in the area and that they share with visitors. But Firefighters also visit the region frequently to talk with people about what they can personally do.

Fernhill Wetlands

The Fern Hill wetlands provide water for the greater region. It does this by still being a habitat for the native wildlife and migrating birds. It is a spot for anyone to come from the community and relax but also learn about the native climate and where their water comes from.

They employ experts to run tests on either how to improve the process or to keep track of the water quality. Many wildlife watchers take pictures and notes on the current species in the area. Professional bikers come here to race or train due to the hills in the surrounding areas. They have a clear idea of the road conditions and the safety measures needed to safely navigate them.

Zesti food carts

Zesti Foods Carts is a place where the variety of cultures that make up the region is celebrated, through food. It is a place where people head for lunch during work or families go for dinner outings. It provides a welcoming space to meet new people or just the festivities that go on at the location.

The food trucks are the greatest source of knowledge in the location, but each food truck has a different expertise. A barbeque truck knows the local cattle and bison ranches in the regions, and by relation might have more knowledge on the rodeo. Whereas a plant-based food truck knows more about the local gardens and farms.
