On 28 February 1946 Bertrand Glancy, the governor of the Punjab between 1941 and 1946, sent this letter to Lord Archibald Wavell, the Viceroy of India from June 1943 to March 1947. In the letter, Glancy discusses the recent election results and highlights that the All-India Muslim League had won several important seats. He also attached a Muslim League propaganda leaflet, which had been translated from Urdu into English. The leaflet encourages Muslims to embrace their religion and support the Muslim League in its fight to establish Pakistan as an independent nation.
