Pushing the Needle slightly

Small adjustments to existing projects pushes students understanding. (Requiring them to record the data an article was written forces them to reflect on whether they've collected the most relevant data).

Fine tuning

Competency framework has been really helpful in guiding me to find small changes to existing projects/assignments/activities to bump up the rigor towards the next level on the continuum.

As a result, students are getting more consistent exposure to the science skills they need and I am getting a clearer picture of what helps them get there.

I am very interested in seeing an activity at Stage 12. I feel like I have worked the most with competencies Stage 8 and below.

Indicators push us to provide holistic understanding. Indicators about discussion really helped my students refine their research & I wouldn't have necessarily prioritized that previously.
