I’d like to share some insights into the daily school life of students in Korea. As a middle school student, my day typically begins with school starting promptly at 8:30 AM. Students are required to pass through the main gate before 8:30, as any delay results in having one's name added to the "students' penalty points list." To remove these penalty points, students must complete specific tasks assigned by the school as a form of compensation.

I would like to introduce Korea's cultural food, Korean chicken. This is different from other chickens. They use

soy sauce, gochujang, honey, etc.

The popularity of Korean chicken is profoundly high.

To explain, according to statistics Korea, there is over 40,000 Korean chicken restraunts in Korea. To compare, there is about 10,000 Starbucks in U.S. So now you can recognize how much chicken restraunts there are.

The price of Korean chickens are not that expensive. They are about $15. It's only 1/2 a price of U.S. chicken restraunts.

It's not hard to fry Korean chickens.

First, chefs season the chickens.

Then, they coat chicken with batter to make it more crispy.

Lastly, they fry the chicken. Then you can eat delicious chicken!

I would like to introduce one of South Korea's most common and loved food of all time, samgyeopsal. Samgyeopsal is just your everyday grilled pork, but the thing that sets it different and unique from ordinary grilled pork is the part of the pig they use to make it. Unlike others, samgyeopsal uses pork belly, giving it a more chewy and juicy texture. We usually eat samgyeopsal with side menus like kimchi.

Making samgyeosal is very simple. First, cut the pork belly into tiny pieces. Second, grill the tiny cut up pieces of pork belly until they become plump and juicy. After you finish grilling, enjoy!

The price of samgyeopsal can vary according to how much you eat. For an average adult, they eat about 150g~200g a meal, which is about $15.

Hi, we are Sun hye and Seo hee. Our topic is about Korean student's culture. By knowing student's culture, people can know what is popular these days. And, the 'culture' that we are going to introduce about is mainly five things. First is about, Korean student's school life. Nowadays, in social media, many of foreign student are having fantasy about Korean student's life, because of 'K-dramas'. However, we are going to break them away, by introducing our 'real' school life. For example of massive amount of assignments, or 'Hagwon' culture. Plus, we'd also like to add how do Korean students feel about their school life, too. Next, is about Korean student's dating and flirting. As I mentioned earlier, many foreign students have fantasy about Korean students life. And, the term 'fantasy' includes about their dating culture too. So, we are going to introduce about what we do when we go on a date. For example, we go to theme parks, or take 'four-cut photos' and etc. The next was about flirting. Did you ever heard about the term 'Flirting'? It is kind of playful language that shows romantic atmosphere. Because many foreigners don't know about it, it will be very interesting topic to them. The next topic is about what we do when we play with friends. And actually we are wondering what if we conbine this topic with the dating and flirting part, because it's quite similar. We think we should consider about it. And finally, the last story is about how do we embellish our look. In this topic, we are going to talk about what we wear, and introduce about some popular cosmetic items.

We are wondering this presentation class will be our best journey during middle school life about English. So, we will do our best on it!!

P.S the posted link is our presentation material.

Hello today i will be presenting about koreas most used transportation. There will be 6 parts to this. So let's begin. Number 1. Transportation frequently used by korean middle school students. Korean students use many type of transportation. But the most frequently used transportation would be bus, subways and bikes. Korean kids use bikes for close destination for exasample schools subway station and etc. And other times korean kids use bus or subways to get to further destination. Number 2. Transportation frequently used by kids under 13 teen. This is similar to number 1 but just a bit different. Since kids under 13 teen are small they have more limited choices for transportation. Most kids thats under 13 teen will use the bus or the bike. Reasons same as number 1. Number 3. Transportation Fee. For bus kids under 13 teen costs 500won, kids under 18 costs 1000won, adults cost about 1200won. Next is Subways. Subways happened to be a bit cheaper with kids under 13 teen costing 500won, under 18 teen costing 800won, and adults costing 1400won. And Of course if you're curious other transportationetc i recommend searching that up durring your free time ;).

Hello, everyone! My name is Kim Ah-hyun, and I'm in 1st grade, class 3. Have you ever thought about what job you want in the future? Today, I’d like to talk about five jobs that many Korean students dream of: pharmacist, police officer, doctor, athlete, and teacher.

First, a Pharmacist

Pharmacists work in pharmacies and prepare medicine for people. To become a pharmacist, you must first study at another university for at least two years. Then, you need to enter the College of Pharmacy, study for six years, and complete a pharmacy training program.

Second, a Police Officer

Police officers help keep people safe. They catch criminals and manage traffic. There are two ways to become a police officer. The first way is to graduate from a police academy and be appointed as an officer. The second way is to pass the police recruitment exam, which is either open to everyone or focused on people with work experience.

Third, a Doctor

Doctors take care of sick people and help them stay healthy. To become a doctor, you must graduate from medical school, earn a medical degree, and pass a national medical exam.

Fourth , an Athlete

Many Korean middle school students dream of becoming soccer players. Soccer players have different positions and play for their teams. To become a professional soccer player, you can first join an amateur or semi-professional team to improve your skills. Then, you can try out for a professional team.

Fifth, a Teacher

Teachers help students learn and grow. To become a teacher, you must graduate from a university of education or a college of education and earn a teaching certificate. After passing the teacher employment exam, you can work at a school.

I hope this introduction to different careers has been helpful! No matter what job you dream of, the most important thing is to enjoy what you do and keep working toward your goal.

That brings my presentation to an end. Each one of you has the power to achieve amazing things. Never give up on your dreams—keep moving forward and make them a reality! Thank you.

Hello, my name is Seo Joon Kim, and today I’ll be introducing you to Korean instant noodles.

Korean instant noodles are loved for their convenience—they’re incredibly easy to prepare, requiring no cooking skills. They’re also famous for their bold, spicy flavors. In Korea, there are many varieties to choose from. Soup-based options like Shin Ramyeon and Neoguri are known for their heat, while milder choices such as seaweed noodles offer a gentler taste. There are also dry noodle varieties, including Buldak, Jjapagetti, and Bibimmyun. Among them, Buldak noodles have gained international popularity thanks to their intense spiciness.

Preparing instant noodles is simple. Just open the packet, add the noodles and seasoning, pour in hot water, cover the bowl, and wait for 3 to 4 minutes. You can adjust the amount of seasoning to suit your taste.

Korean instant noodles are also quite affordable, typically costing between 70 cents and $1.40—much cheaper than a Big Mac, which is around $4. Their accessibility and ease of preparation make them a favorite among both students and adults alike.

I’d like to introduce a beloved part of Korean cuisine—Korean fried chicken. It’s quite different from other types of fried chicken, as it’s often coated in flavorful sauces made with ingredients like soy sauce, gochujang (Korean chili paste), and honey.

Korean fried chicken is incredibly popular. In fact, according to Statistics Korea, there are over 40,000 Korean fried chicken restaurants in the country. To put that into perspective, the U.S. has around 10,000 Starbucks locations—this comparison highlights just how widespread and loved Korean fried chicken is.

Despite its popularity, Korean fried chicken is fairly affordable, typically costing about $15 per order, which is roughly half the price of fried chicken in U.S. restaurants.

Making Korean fried chicken is quite simple. First, the chicken is seasoned for extra flavor. Then, it’s coated in a batter to achieve that signature crispy texture. Finally, it’s deep-fried to perfection. The result? Delicious, crunchy, and flavorful chicken that keeps people coming back for more!

I’d like to introduce one of South Korea’s most beloved dishes—samgyeopsal. While it may seem like just regular grilled pork, what makes it unique is the specific cut of meat used. Unlike other types of grilled pork, samgyeopsal is made with pork belly, giving it a distinctively juicy and chewy texture. It’s often enjoyed with side dishes like kimchi, which complement its rich flavor.

Making samgyeopsal is simple. First, the pork belly is cut into small pieces. Then, it’s grilled until plump and perfectly cooked. Once it’s ready, just dig in and enjoy!

The price of samgyeopsal depends on how much you eat. On average, adults consume about 150 to 200 grams per meal, which costs around $15.

Malatang is a well-loved hot pot dish that originated in China, known for its bold, spicy flavor and a unique numbing sensation. This special feeling comes from mala seasoning, which is made by mixing chili peppers with Sichuan peppercorns. Together, these ingredients create a taste that is both fiery hot and pleasantly numbing.

The word malatang comes from three Chinese characters: ma means numbing, la means spicy, and tang means soup. The name perfectly describes the dish — a spicy soup that makes your mouth feel slightly numb.

To make malatang, start by boiling a flavorful, spicy broth using chili oil, Sichuan peppercorns, and a hot pot seasoning base. Once the broth is ready, add a variety of meats, vegetables, and noodles, cooking them all together until they are tender and infused with the spicy soup.

One interesting thing about malatang restaurants is their system where you select your own ingredients. This means the price usually depends on how much food you pick, but generally, malatang costs under $10, making it a tasty and affordable meal option.

One-Day Fun Courses (Hot Places)

Korean students like to plan a “fun course” with their friends.
They make a schedule for the day and go out together.
Here’s an example:

• Take the subway to the city

• Visit a pop-up store

• Go to a cute café

• Eat spicy rice cakes (tteokbokki)

• Take sticker photos

It’s like a small adventure with friends!

4. Light Makeup

Some middle schoolers in Korea try light makeup, especially on weekends.
At school, makeup isn’t allowed,
but when they hang out, they might use:

• Lip tint

• Cushion foundation

• Light contouring

They like a natural and cute look.
Many students learn makeup from YouTube or TikTok.

5. Fashion and Styling

Fashion is also a big part of fun!
Korean students enjoy wearing “effortless but stylish” (called ‘ggu-an-ggu’) looks.

Popular clothes are:

• Jogger pants

• Crop tops

• White hoodies

• Nike sneakers

Sometimes, they even go thrift shopping for cool clothes.
They often match outfits with friends and take pictures together.

Conclusion

So, Korean middle school students today
have fun by going to pop-up stores,
relaxing at the Han River,
planning fun hangouts,
doing light makeup,
and dressing up with friends.

What about students in your country?
Do you do similar things? Or something different?

Thank you for listening!

Third, I will tell you about Jegichagi.
Jegichagi is a game that many of you might have played before. In Jegichagi, we use a toy called a jegi. A jegi is made with coins or metal, and it is covered with paper or cloth. The ends of the jegi have little tails that move in the air.

The game is very simple. You have to kick the jegi with your foot. If it does not fall, you keep kicking. The person who kicks it the most times wins.

Let’s learn a little history about Jegichagi. Jegichagi came from an old Chinese game called chukguk. Chukguk was a game to practice fighting. Then, it came to Korea when people traded with China. At first, it was called dyegi. Later, the name changed to jeogi and then to jegi. In the 19th century, books show that Jegichagi became a game for children.

Fourth, I will tell you about Ganggangsullae.
Ganggangsullae is a dance and a song together. Many people join hands and make a big circle. First, they make a circle and hold hands. Second, they sing a song. One person sings first, and the others sing after. The first voice is called the lead song and the others sing the follow song. People also sing songs like gosari kkeokgi, cheong-eo yeokgi, and deokseokmari during Ganggangsullae.

Third, people dance in the circle. They move their feet and turn in the circle. When they dance slowly, it is called jung Ganggangsullae. When they dance fast, it is called jajin Ganggangsullae.

Now, let’s learn about the history of Ganggangsullae. There are many stories, but the most famous one is from the Imjin War. It says that General Yi Sun-sin wanted to make the army look bigger. So he told women to wear men’s clothes and dance on the mountain to trick the enemy.

Number 4. Korean transportation appearance. Korea have many transportation with many appearance. So lets begin with bus. In korea busses come in 4 colors. The colors being blue, green, yellow, red. Each color represent a different routes. Blue is for main routes, green are feeder routes, Yellow is circulation routes, Red is for rapid or express routes. And I would discribe the buses appearance as american school bus. Next is subways. Now subway is much more simlpler than buses. Mostly because all you have to do is go the right direction. And I would discribe the subways appearance as a bullet if you look at it from out side and a white large room from the inside. Number 5. How to use korean transportation. Now most transportation used in korea is very similar. You scan your transportation card and thats it. Korean buses have these scanners located at the front of the bus. Just scan the card and thats it. When you get off make sure you scan agian at the back of the bus. Now if you wanna use the subway heres what you do. Take you transportation card and scan it infront of the machine before getting in. After that you can go into your subway and enjoy the ride. If you need to change routes you can get off scan your card before moving to your next route. Heres a little tip. Keep your car charged so that you dont run in to any inconvenience. Number 6. Operating hours. This is easy to remember the fact that buses and subways operating hours are almost the same. Subways and buses run from dawn to midnight. And taxis can run all night long. And that was it. Thank you for listen to my presentation. I hope one day my presentation can help you get around korea. So enjoy your day and remember don't get lost.

Good morning/afternoon, everyone. I'm Juhyun, a first-year student in Class 2.

Today, I’d like to tell you about how Korean teenagers have fun when they hang out these days.

In Korea, one of the most popular trends among teenagers these days is visiting pop-up stores. These are temporary shops set up by K-pop entertainment companies, cosmetics brands, or fashion labels. They usually sell limited-edition goods related to idols, characters, or popular brands. Students often visit these places with their friends to take photos, buy cute merchandise, and post about their visit on social media. Most of the popular pop-up stores are located in Seongsu, a trendy area in Seoul.

Another popular hangout spot is the Han River. This large river runs through Seoul, and on weekends or during their free time, many students go there to ride bikes, have snacks on picnic mats, and eat instant noodles from convenience stores. At night, the view is beautiful, and lots of people enjoy taking pictures by the riverside. One unique feature is the ramen-cooking machine you can find near the river, which makes the whole experience even more fun.

Korean teenagers also love to spend their whole day with their friends visiting some interesting places. This means they create a full-day schedule and visit several fun places together. A typical plan might look like this: they take the subway to another cities, visit a pop-up store, stop by a cute café, eat spicy rice cakes called tteokbokki, and take some cute photos at a photo booth. It’s like going on a mini adventure with your best friends, full of fun and memories.

On weekends, some middle school students in Korea also enjoy trying out light makeup. Since makeup isn’t allowed at school, they experiment with it in their free time. They might use lip tint, cushion foundation, and a bit of light contouring. Most of them prefer a natural and cute look, and many learn makeup tips from SNS.

Fashion is another big part of how Korean teenagers express themselves and have fun. They enjoy wearing outfits that are effortless but stylish — a look known as “ggu-an-ggu” in Korean. Popular items include jogger pants, crop tops, white hoodies, and Nike sneakers. Some students even go thrift shopping to find unique and trendy clothes. They often get some matching items with their friends, and keep their friendship.

So, in summary, Korean middle school students today enjoy spending their free time by visiting pop-up stores, relaxing at the Han River, planning exciting one-day hangouts, experimenting with light makeup, and dressing up in their own unique style. What about students in your country? Do you enjoy similar things, or do you have different ways of having fun?

Thank you for listening!

I would like to talk about the games that Korean students play. Korean students enjoy playing games in many different ways on their phones, tablets, or computers. Interestingly, some students even use old 2G phones to play simple games.

Most students usually play games after school. During school vacations, however, many students gather with friends and go to game cafés, known as PC방 in Korea. These cafés are very popular and easy to find. At a, students can order food like ramen, fried rice, toast, drinks, or desserts. Many of these cafés also offer services like printing and copying, which can be useful for students.

Korean students play a wide variety of games, but especially enjoy titles like PUBG: Battlegrounds, Valorant, FC Mobile, and League of Legends. League of Legends is known for the LCK (League of Legends Champions Korea) and the pro player Faker, who plays for team T1.

Students don't play only competitive games. Students also enjoy casual mobile games and social games where they can chat and play with friends. Gaming is not just a hobby but also a way to relieve stress, build friendships, and keep up with popular culture. Esports has become so big in Korea that many students even dream of becoming professional gamers one day.

Among the many beloved dishes in South Korean cuisine, Jjajangmyeon stands out as a true favorite among locals and visitors alike. This hearty noodle dish features thick, chewy wheat noodles smothered in a rich, sweet, and savory black bean sauce called chunjang. The combination of textures and deep flavors makes Jjajangmyeon both comforting and addictive, which is why it remains a go-to meal for many Koreans, especially during busy lunch hours or as a satisfying late-night snack.

The origin of Jjajangmyeon can be traced back to Korean-Chinese fusion cuisine, and over the years, it has become a cultural staple in South Korea. Today, it's widely enjoyed by people of all ages and is often considered a nostalgic food that reminds many of childhood or family meals. It's also famously associated with "Black Day" in Korea—a day when single people who didn’t receive gifts on Valentine’s Day or White Day gather to eat Jjajangmyeon together.

The dish is made using noodles crafted from finely ground wheat flour, giving them a dense, chewy texture that holds up perfectly under the thick sauce. The chunjang sauce is made by stir-frying fermented black bean paste with various ingredients, most commonly diced pork or beef, onions, zucchini, and sometimes potatoes or cabbage. The mixture is cooked until the vegetables are tender and the flavors meld together into a deep, savory sauce with just a hint of sweetness. The sauce is then poured generously over the freshly cooked noodles, creating a satisfying and flavorful meal. Some people also like to mix the sauce and noodles thoroughly before eating to ensure every bite is evenly coated.

Jjajangmyeon is often served with traditional Korean side dishes like danmuji (yellow pickled radish), which adds a crisp and tangy contrast to the richness of the sauce. Another popular pairing is tangsuyuk, a dish consisting of deep-fried pork or beef pieces coated in a light batter and served with a glossy sweet-and-sour sauce. The combination of tangsuyuk and Jjajangmyeon is particularly popular when ordering delivery, and many Korean-Chinese restaurants offer the two together as a set.

Despite its bold and satisfying flavors, Jjajangmyeon is quite affordable. On average, a bowl costs around $7, making it an accessible comfort food for students, workers, and families alike. Whether enjoyed at a sit-down restaurant, ordered for delivery, or made at home with instant versions, Jjajangmyeon remains a symbol of everyday Korean cuisine—simple, delicious, and deeply comforting.

To become a pharmacist, you need to enter the College of Pharmacy, study for six years, and complete a pharmacy training program.

Second, a Police Officer

Police officers help keep people safe. They catch criminals and manage traffic. There are two ways to become a police officer. The first way is to graduate from a police academy and be appointed as an officer. The second way is to pass the police recruitment exam.

Thank you.

Jjajangmyeon is one of South Korea’s most popular comfort foods, featuring thick, chewy noodles topped with a rich, sweet, and savory black bean sauce called chunjang. Originally part of Korean-Chinese fusion cuisine, it has evolved into a cultural staple loved by people of all ages. The dish even holds symbolic meaning, especially on “Black Day,” when single people who didn’t receive gifts on Valentine’s or White Day gather to enjoy Jjajangmyeon together.

The sauce is made by stir-frying fermented black bean paste with diced pork or beef, onions, zucchini, and sometimes potatoes or cabbage, creating a deep and flavorful mixture. This thick sauce is then poured over freshly cooked noodles, which many diners like to mix thoroughly so every bite is evenly coated. The result is a satisfying combination of hearty noodles and a sauce that perfectly balances savory and sweet flavors.

Jjajangmyeon is typically served with danmuji (yellow pickled radish), which adds a tangy crunch that complements the rich sauce, and is often paired with tangsuyuk, a sweet-and-sour fried meat dish. Affordable and widely available at restaurants, for delivery, or in instant form, Jjajangmyeon remains a symbol of everyday Korean dining—simple, comforting, and full of nostalgic charm.

Today, I’d like to tell you guys about how Korean teenagers have fun when they hang out these days. I'll proceed the presentation in the order of pop-up store, Han river, makeup style, and then the fashion trend of Korean teenagers.

In addition, most of the popular pop-up stores are located in Seongsu, a trendy area in Seoul.

On weekends, some middle school students in Korea also enjoy trying out light makeup. Since heavy makeup isn’t allowed at school, most of the korean students prefer light makeup style instead of heavy one. They might use lip tint, cushion foundation, and a bit of light contouring. Most of them prefer a natural and simple look, and many learn makeup tips from SNS.

Fashion is another big part of how Korean teenagers express themselves and have fun. Most of Korean teenagers prefer clothese that are cost-effective. Due to the frequency and rapidity of the Korean fashion trends, most of them prefer fashion items that are value for money that they can easily buy and throw away their clothes. Brands that are consistently popular in Korea are mostly Adidas, Nike, Stussy, Spao, Uniqlo, and Zara. Although school uniforms are mandatory, students often layer hoodies or jackets over their uniforms in winter.

So, in summary, Korean middle school students today enjoy spending their free time by visiting pop-up stores, relaxing at the Han River, planning exciting one-day hangouts, putting on a light makeup, and dressing up in their own unique style. What about students in your country? How do students in your country enjoy their free time. Do you guys enjoy similar things, or do you have any other different ways of having fun?

Thank you for listening!
