4. Infection from blood products. This can happen when given blood products that are not properly tested before given. This can also be transmitted by getting blood on you. Chlamydia can cause long term damage in the reproductive system in women. It can cause difficulties getting pregnant or difficulties while pregnant. Such as fatal ectopic pregnancy, meaning pregnancy outside of the womb. Symptoms for women with chlamydia:
- abnormal vaginal discharge
- burning during urination
- bleeding
- rectal pain
