In this module, students will listen to, read, and view a variety of texts and media that present them with information about the arts.

A genre focus on biography provides students with opportunities to identify ideas and support, text structure, and figurative language, in order to better understand unfamiliar texts. Students will also encounter informational text and poetry to build knowledge across genres.

As students build their vocabulary and synthesize topic knowledge, they will learn that sharing our creative talents with the world can bring us closer together.

Here are some suggestions for valuable at-home activities that can enhance your child's skills:

📚 Read Together: Explore the wonders of literature by reading books together. Reading is a fantastic way to expand vocabulary and imagination, whether it's a bedtime story or an afternoon adventure.

🧮 Math Enrichment: Utilize the EnVision workbook to practice math problems at home. This will reinforce the day's lessons and allow your child to master key mathematical concepts.

📝 Assignment Catch-Up or Ahead: If your child is particularly enthusiastic about a certain subject, feel free to explore related topics or assignments from class. Likewise, use this time to catch up on incomplete tasks and ensure a solid understanding of the material.

Remember, the goal is to create a positive and engaging learning experience for your child. Encourage them to spend at least 15-30 minutes daily on these activities, tailoring the time to suit your family's schedule.

Elementary students in grades 2-5 may possess telecommunication devices; however, these devices are only to be used for instructional purposes under the direction of a teacher. These devices should be turned off and not visible at all other times during the school day on school property, including on school transportation.

During snack time, students have a chance to refuel and recharge. We give them a quick 5-minute break to enjoy a healthy snack. Please send your student ONE tasty, nutritious snack to keep their energy up and their minds ready to learn. Nothing that can stain their fingers.
