         <description><![CDATA[<div>Opens with a thick texture, polyphonic material - call and response between the brass and the strings.<br>Thick then thin, helped by the higher register of the strings.<br>Then only strings playing at piano with a thin oboe then flute melodic line. Homophonic at this point.<br>Rising strings allows for the bottom register to be filled out by the brass.<br>Silences separate the different sections. The trend is silence, thin then thick.<br>The piccolo hangs over top (thin) and then the timpani enters with brass to fill out the texture until thick. Homophonic.<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The lower registers of the brass are resonant and thunderous, filling out the texture.<br>The high register of the strings, piccolo and flute are airy, creating a sparse atmosphere.<br>The strings can also be warm and lulling as accompaniment when piano.<br>The horn's unique timbre is effective in piercing through the thick texture as jabs.</div>]]></description>
