         <title>Active Learning</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>- Manipulative, Observant<br>1. Throughout this past week, I have been babysitting my younger cousin who plays softball. As we were practicing hitting in the yard, she began to get better. This is because she began seeing how to time her swings. Instructing her to watch the ball until she could hit it was not effective until she practiced the action and understood it that way.&nbsp;<br>2. Flipgrid is a system that I had never even heard of until this past week. There was a step by step instruction guide for how to work the software, but I did not understand some of the steps until I began using the system and figuring it out for myself. This is an effective method of active learning because I was provided with what I needed to do, and then I did it. If I was not provided with the written instructions too, however, I may have struggled to figure out the system.</div>]]></description>

         <title>Authentic Learning</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>- Complex, Contextual<br>1. Authentic learning applies classwork to the real world. As I am pursuing an education degree, it is important not only for me to know how to teach that, but also to apply it myself. In this class alone, I have learned how to operate Flipgrid and Padlet. I know that there are more to come, and I am excited to utilize them in my career one day. This example, however, is both poor and beneficial. I realized that these assignments were applicable in my life, but they were not directly presented as such. Nonetheless, the opportunity to explore and understand each software exhibits numerous benefits.<br>2. One of my courses this summer deals with teaching in a diverse environment. This entire class is applicable to the real world because the world is a diverse place. Everything I learn can thus be applied both in and out of the classroom. This course is just one example of this occurrence, and most all of the information I learn as I pursue my degree will be applicable in the classroom and in society because each event deals with people.</div>]]></description>

         <title>Constructive Learning</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>- Articulative, Reflective<br>1. Constructive learning result when an individual forms an idea and pursues knowledge to build on it. For this assignment, I was presented with a system I was unfamiliar with: Padlet. The assignment did not feature instructions as to how to operate this system. However, I knew I wanted to perform well on this assignment, so I took it upon myself to build my knowledge of the system. As I began working, a form of active learning, I began to build my knowledge base of the system, and my experience I am building as I type each letter is demonstrative of constructive learning.<br>2. In one of my classes this summer, I had to create a slideshow with a poem about me. I believe the appearance of a presentation is important, so I selected a theme. However, I began struggling to find images that fit my theme. Initially I was upset, but I knew that there was a way to edit the pictures. I began exploring the options I could use, and I discovered tons of features that I did not know existed. In the past, I formed an idea of how the system worked, and by further exploring the features, I built upon, or constructed, my knowledge.          <title>Cooperative Learning</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>- Collaborative, Conversational<br>1. One of the main examples of cooperative learning that I experienced this week is through an application called GroupMe. In one of the classes I am taking this summer, there was a group chat set up for us to help each other. For example, an individual was struggling to understand an assignment, so the others in the group were able to better explain what the individual needed to do.&nbsp;<br>2. Discussion boards and Flipgrid are excellent examples of cooperative learning. Each student shares their individual ideas, and then they are able to compare and add to the ideas of their peers. This allows each student to build on their ideas by building on their knowledge, while building their classmates' knowledge as well. I am often times shocked by the different perspectives presented in discussions that I often had not considered.</div>]]></description>

         <title>Intentional Learning</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>- Goal-directed, Regulatory<br>1. The first example I have to offer of intentional learning is a past experience. When I was in high school, I knew that money was not easy to come by in my family. I knew I could work to save money, but I wanted to get as much free money as possible. I am naturally very smart, but that is not important if I do not apply my knowledge. I took honors, DE, and AP classes (while playing sports) and worked extra hard. When I graduated high school, I had a 4.0 and a 30 on the ACT. These scores allowed me to get enough scholarships to not have to pay anything! This is one of my biggest accomplishments because I know it is helping my parents so much.&nbsp;<br>2. Currently, I am in college to obtain a degree. However, I also set the goal to do it in as short amount of time as possible. In the above example,  I mentioned taking AP and DE courses. When I graduated high school, I had 26 credit hours, which put me ahead by a year. I am a 19 year old junior. As I keep meeting pursuing this goal, I feel more excited about what I am learning. This allows me to obtain as much information as possible to score well. This proves itself because I have scored all As in university thus far. I know that slacking up will cause me to fall behind and lose motivation, so my goals to complete college quickly but efficiently are beneficial. </div>]]></description>
