         <description><![CDATA[<div>The first thing that I think of when I hear the word "nutrition" is a nutrition label and just eating "healthy." For a nutrition label specifically, I think of the calories section and then the vitamin section of the label, because those sections are the biggest and therefore catch your eye easier, so I end up looking at those parts of a nutrition label first. For the eating "healthy" part of nutrition, I think of "healthy" food, such as fruits and vegetables and eating in moderation, as well as the food pyramid. I understand that there is a lot more to the term "nutrition," but that is what first pops up in my head when I hear the term. It will be interesting how my first thoughts change in the duration of this course!</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The concept of nutrition sparks many images in my mind, both positive and negative. On the positive side I see nutrition as the perfect balance of macro and micro nutrients, fueling the human body to its peak potential. To me this side of nutrition upholds balance and sustains not only a healthy physical state but a healthy mental state as well. On the contrary nutrition also can be an anxiety inducing subject for those who may be suffering with an eating disorder, or whos health does not permit them to receive all of the nutrients their body needs to healthily function. I am excited to learn about and study both sides of this spectrum and hopefully broaden my understanding of nutrition as a future clinician. </div>]]></description>

I have always believed that the type of food we consume plays a huge role in our health outcomes. A lot of chronic diseases are caused from poor diets. The type of foods we eat can play a big factor in how we feel. For example if I eat a lot of sugar in one sitting I usually end up feeling tired and sluggish later, compared to eating a banana. Over all I relate nutrition to being one of the core parts of taking care of our health,  "eating nutritiously" is about choosing foods that are going to benefit your body. <br><br></div>]]></description>

As a kid I didn't understand why my mom didn't buy popular sugar cereals, or why we had to eat a vegetable with every meal (she mixed veggies in with scrambled eggs!). But I slowly came to understand that foods with low nutritional value left me feeling depleted and gross, while nutrient rich foods refresh my body and make me feel clean. I cook a lot, and therefore am very aware of what is in my diet. I think of my early childhood education class, where we learned about the importance of feeding kids healthy diets so that they can grow and play. In that class, we learned about the My Plate recommendations. When I was younger, we were all taught about the food triangle. I also think about what I learned in biology about cell metabolism and macromolecules. Lastly, I think about all of the nutrition labels that I occasionally glance at when I eat something.  </div>]]></description>

Although my thoughts might not love the sound and the meanings behind nutrition, but I do believe it is important in your daily life and if you don't prioritize it, it can affect your life negatively. I have heard about nutrition all of my life, but haven't looked much into it personally. I hope this class is able to give me more insight into how I should be tackling nutrition in all of my meals and hopefully I'll be able to share some of that knowledge with my family and friends. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Whenever I would hear the term  "nutrition" I would always think of healthy stuff typically fruits and vegetables. It's funny as a kid I only thought you can be healthy and obtain supernatural powers through fruits and veggies alone. Of course I think differently now than as a kid. Now I think nutrition is make sure you have a balanced diet and not to overconsume on one type of food. For me at least I noticed when I used to eat alot of junk food I would be super sluggish and feel mentally tired which really impacted my health and school life. After making sure I consumed a variety of foods that are good for me on a daily basis I noticed that I was feeling more happy mentally and physically. There are still times where I do eat junk food once in a while but thats only once in while.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>When I hear the word nutrition I think of an overall healthy diet. Nutrition can be the balance of eating the correct amount of food that you consume. As for myself when I work out and want to get in shape I need to have the right nutrition to set a goal. Without it eating the wrong foods will set yourself back to a point where there is no progress. I also think about the label on the back of food products showing the nutrition label for what the item consist of. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>When I hear the term nutrition, I think of eating a balanced and healthy diet that will contribute to one's overall health and well-being. Whenever I think about a balanced diet that leads to good nutrition, the first thing I think of is the food pyramid. I have heard that the classic food pyramid is an outdated concept now,  but because I was taught it so often in my youth, it is still the first thing my mind goes to when I think of nutrition. As a biology major, I also think of the four major macromolecules (carbohydrates, proteins, lipids, and nucleic acids) and the role they play in the body's chemical pathways.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[When I hear the word "nutrition", the first things that come to mind are the words clean, colorful, and healthy. I feel as though eating a nutritious meal is almost giving that person a cleanse by treating their body will the proper nutrients they deserve to function efficiently. When picturing a nutritious meal, I instantly picture the bright orange of a carrot, the bright green of spinach or lettuce, or a bright blue for blueberries. Lastly, it's no question that the biggest step one can take to live healthier is to simply eat a more balanced diet. ]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>When I hear the word "nutrition",  food is the first thing that comes to mind. More specifically, I think of all of the healthy foods that aid in keeping our body healthy such as: fruits, veggies, grains, meats, etc. Recently, I have been really dedicated to the gym, so I have been doing my research on how all of the nutrients we put into our body affects basic body functions and the relationship between nutrients and energy. With this, another thing that comes to mind is what I need to put in my body in order to reach my goal. Since I am trying to build muscle, I have increased my protein intake, carb intake, and have adjusted my fat intake to make sure I get all of my nutrients all while reaching my fitness goal! <br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>This is such a broad term, there are so many ways one can think of this term but what comes to mind for me are all of those old school diagrams talking about what foods you need to live a healthy lifestyle. Whether it be a pyramid that I saw in elementary school, one of the plates that started to pop up around the same time, or even a "V8" commercial talking about having a recommended servings of vegetables and fruits(the forehead bonk followed by "you could have had a V8 will forever be embedded in my mind.) Either way I do not have a set thought on what comes to mind when I hear "Nutrition." Hopefully after this class I will have a better thought when I hear this term! Also if you do not know what commercial I am referring to I have listed it below!</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>At whatever point I would hear the expression "sustenance" I would consistently consider solid stuff ordinarily leafy foods. It's clever as a child I just idea you can be solid and get heavenly powers through foods grown from the ground alone. Obviously I think distinctively now than as a child. Presently I think nourishment is ensure you have a reasonable eating routine and not to overconsume on one kind of food. For me at any rate I saw when I used to eat alot of low quality nourishment I would be very lazy and feel intellectually drained which truly affected my wellbeing and school life. Subsequent to ensuring I devoured an assortment of food sources that are beneficial for me consistently I saw that I was feeling more cheerful intellectually and truly.<br><br></div>]]></description>
