Completely understandable. We recognize that everyone has responsibilities to manage. That being said, consider what childcare supports you might be able to use to help support your learning in program and also when you transition into employment (ex. daycare, family/friend support, etc). If you need guidance/in-program accommodations/resources reach out to staff accordingly.

This is something you'd need to discuss further with your CES.

In terms of internal supports we can sometimes provide 10-15 minutes extra camera/training breaks daily but this again would have to be discussed with the CES.

In regards to external supports please note that we do not directly provide any caregiving services but we are aware of some community organizations that may be able to help you in this area.

Potential IT Career Paths

We have many folks from diverse professional backgrounds so it really depends on your current level of experience.

Some of you have no experience in IT, or little working experience. Others are transitioning into IT from other careers or transitioning into a career in Canada. Most of you will gain entry level IT jobs such as Administrative Assistant, Data Entry, Customer Service Representative, IT Technician, Technical Support, etc. These don't require considerable experience, and are jobs that are most common with our employers.

For those with a few years of IT experience, we may target more senior roles such as Field Service Technician, Help Desk Consultant. IT Support Admin, Help Desk Tier 3 or 4, etc. These jobs are more competitive, but some of you will achieve these or similar roles.

When we are finished a module, does it automatically submit on Coursera to you guys or do we have to manually submit it somehow? And if so, do we submit that on Blackboard? I know you touched on that at the beginning but I forget what the instructions about that are, I'm sorry.

SWOT help breakout rooms

hey so I found that really difficult, in small breakout rooms because nobody was talking and I didn't want to disturb anyone who was working by turning my mic on and saying anything/offering help. And nobody was asking for any help. I think it would be better if the rooms had more people in them, so that there's more opportunity for people to speak up.

They highly recommend Win OS to complete the course. I love my Mac as other *nixes, though have a big stack of OSes on Win/VirtualBox.

For a very rare worst case scenario you can install a free Win image on Oracle VM VirtualBox (Easiest) or KVM / QEMU with Virt-Manager (Best Performance).
