We can clearly see the answer, which would be no, since is we treat her in that manner it will have an negative effect on her. During those years she kept practicing her faith even though people were against it. All the loss she faced in her life drew her closer to Christ. She surrendered her life to the will of God and she lived for God like Jesus did. She displayed her surrender when she became a nun. Surrender also meant obedience and for Catherine being obedient was a way to return the gift God has given to man.
