         <description><![CDATA[<p><strong>Affirm</strong></p><p>Length of the programme was just right. It ties in with the syllabus on early immigrants. </p><p>Generally, students enjoyed the LJ and many mentioned it as one of the things they remembered of their P4 year.</p><p><strong>Aware</strong></p><p>Unfortunately for those who went for the morning slot, the traditional medical hall and pastry shops were not yet open. But it was cooler in the morning and we did not have to worry about the heat.</p><p>At the station where the facilitator talked about the other surrounding buildings etc, it would have been better if they could have a big screen to better show the photos. Photos being what it is, not all the interesting details were clear.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<ol><li><p>Students were more engaged in the 4A segment as they were curious about the early immigrants and their contributions etc. They were able to understand the difficulties faced, empathise and make connections. </p><p>However, it was harder to engage students in the lessons on the journey towards independence. It is possible that students were not able to relate and thus the relevance was lost. </p></li><li><p>It is always easier to engage students with videos so, would it be possible to get more videos about the prominent early immigrants who made contributions to Singapore?  </p></li></ol>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Class was more engaged and focused when the topic in 5A - Building Spore's Defence was taught as the chapter showcased the SAF,SPF,SCDF and how we can play a part to keep Spore safe. Many were able to share stories of their neighbours. cousins or fathers serving NS. KWL template was useful in the introduction of the lesson. Class was able to relate topic to TTD and the hands-on activities conducted. Video clips on youtube and SLS lesson packages also helped  to engage the students.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Students do research in groups and present the finished product.</p><p>Soft skills like collaboration, teamwork etc. are learnt. Through working on the project, students look at researched info critically and use only the info which is relevant in their project.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Pearlie really motivates and inspires our SS teachers to enhance as well as engage their students by infusing IT tools like padlet, nearpod etc in their lessons.  SS teachers who have used IT to engage students have shared their lessons and it is really encouraging. Pearlie is also always ready to share her knowledge and very approachable when we have queries wrt SS lessons.</p>]]></description>
