In the beginning of Ancient Egypt, Egyptians used pyramids as tombs for pharaohs. They buried all of their valuables and riches with the pharaoh as a symbol of honor. Since pyramids were such a big target, they were easy to find by enemies. Pyramids were only used for mostly the old and middle time periods of Egypt because of that. Egyptians had to create traps, mazes, and other obstacles to prevent enemies from breaking in and stealing riches.
