When was he born, When did he die and where? There is very little information on his brother but many believe Hubert was a better painter than Jan They both grew up as painters 
There isn't much about Jans childhood, but most suspect he was taught art by his older brother Hubert later on they went to collab on a very famous painting Ghent Alterpeice (Gale).

That new strategy gave the paint a more vibrant look and was also able to give the paintings more detail.
 This was very different for that time period because no one had ever done anything like that before (London).
