Mentoring and support networks

Having a mentor or being surrounded by a network of people who share similar interests can accelerate the development of these competencies:

Mentoring: seek out people with more experience in the area in which you want to improve. They can guide you and offer feedback.

Professional communities: Participate in groups or forums related to the competencies you want to develop. Sharing ideas and experiences with others is a great motivator.

Another accepted element is that competencies are formed and developed throughout the active life of the subject, they are related to the capacity for self-regulation and self-knowledge (there must be a metacognitive processing in order to seek quality in what is done, correct mistakes and continuously improve). In relation to the above, it can be said that its regulatory character is notorious.

It is also recognized that being competent brings with it the availability of resources and strategies that allow the subject to perform with flexibility, initiative, perseverance, autonomy and future perspective in his performance, to reflect on his own performance, an adjusted vision of his possibilities and limits.

In conclusion, emerging competence in education is key to forming individuals capable of thriving in a dynamic and globalized environment. This requires a change in the way we teach and learn, promoting flexibility, continuous learning and the ability to adapt to new realities.

As the labor market and social demands evolve, educational systems must adjust to prepare students with these skills. This implies not only the integration of new technologies in the teaching and learning processes, but also a focus on the development of emotional and social competencies that help students deal with unexpected or complex situations.
