Mother (I love you.)

Before consciousness
we grow.
Our body grows.
Our brain grows.
And something else grows.
Something indefinable.
Something indescribable.
In order for this
thing to grow,
we need someone
to carry us.
Someone strong.
Someone who
can sustain
staggering pain.
This someone
is a mother.
And this something
is love.
