I found this interview to be very interesting and I learned a lot. I didn't know that Sandra Day O'Connor was the first woman on the Supreme Court. One thing I really liked in particular was that O'Connor gave the job of writing the case to Ginsburg because she truly thought she deserved it. I like that even though that is a big honor, she did the right thing and gave it to Ginsburg.

My favorite part of the Declaration is the list of grievances against the King because it adds validity to it. With that it is an actual Declaration and not just a plea for freedom.

I would definitely support an amendment banning the burning of the flag, because our flag stands for so much and burning it is basically telling the world that you don't respect America and the people who died to get that flag for us. I think it is extremely disrespectful and I think that it should be illegal to tamper with the American flag in any way.

I thought that this movie was very interesting. I like that it was set in the past so that you could see how things were back then in politics. I thought the part with the boys making the newspapers was very intriguing because I had never seen an actual newspaper being made. I think the movie would've lost it's effect if it would've been more modern. I also thought it was really interesting that even though the movie was so long ago, it cold still very easily happen today. There are still corrupt politicians today. In fact, it is probably more common than not that a politician is corrupt.

I believe that Jefferson Smith would most like have been a Republican and most likely would still be considered one today. I think this because he spends his time focusing on things that are good for his people and his state and he doesn't create bills or do things for his own personal gain. I believe that Jefferson Smith would be the type of politician who would vote against something his state or people wanted if it truly was for the good of the country. I also think that Jefferson Smith would've continued in politics after the filibuster because I think he truly wanted to change America for the better and do what the people wanted. I don't think he could've been very successful at this however because very few politicians act and think like he does.

I think that Jefferson Smith could be closely compared to Rodney Davis. Jefferson Smith was a boy troop leader in his state and seemed to care a lot about his community and the people that lived there, so when he went to the Senate, he did what would benefit his people and his state and did not put up with the corruption in the Senate. I think that Rodney Davis tries to accomplish something very similar today. He is from Taylorville, Illinois (a very small town that is nowhere near Chicago) and he campaigns for the "little guys". He wants to help those who typically don't have voice and do what is best for the country, not just the rich politicians.
