Nowadays, there are 200 students approximately and 25 teachers in our ZER. Most of specialist teachers (English, PE, Religion, Music and Diversity) are peripatetics. Masdenverge and La Galera schools have got the biggest number of students. Our school principles are based on inclusion, equitable quality education and lifelong learning opportunities for all.

 

3 of our Schools (Freginals, Godall and Mas de Barberans) have got a preschool class in the same building for children from 1 to 3 years old. This is an experiment to increase the enrolments and have more students in our schools.

Our daily task tries to promote projects, experiments, CLIL activities, school excursions... Also, we organize a meeting day for students and teachers. However, we haven't been able to do any excursion or meeting day for students and teachers due to the pandemic.

 

The GEP2 tasks have been implemented in the 5 schools, specifically in 5th and 6th grade. We are a rural school which hosts children from 1 to 12 years old, and there are from three to four groups in each of the schools we mentioned before.

 

There is an involvement of families in the school life and most of them are from local origin with a medium economic and socio-cultural level.

 

This course has been a challenge for us, so we have had to develop a project taking into account all the measures and restrictions against Covid-19, and this was difficult. However, this course has meant the second year of GEP at our school, so the experience has helped us to do our best to implement the project in a successful way. 

 

In addition, we would like to explain all the good things we have obtained during this course. We have learnt a lot about creating materials, CLIL methodology and using ICT new resources. Fortunately, students found interesting learning lessons in English and they asked us to do that. Moreover, implementing the activities we designed for the project was really motivating for children because they felt that new materials and different resources had been created specifically for them, instead of the traditional book. 

In conclusion, students enjoyed the project and we as teachers would like to thank them for their involvement and participation, despite the circumstances. All the school community enjoyed taking part in the final product (the video) and we are very happy with the result.

 

Last but not least, we would like to say that it is difficult to show our labour in a 2-minute video but we believe that watching it has been really helpful to identify the strengths and weaknesses when teaching.
