He had also underwent a period of substance abuse, self harming and bulimia

2-  Main symptoms that he experinced include heavy use of alcohol and drugs as well as mood swings

3- He had felt quite unhappy with his childhood as he felt lonely and "quite sad". He tried to alievinate the pain with food and when that was unsucessful he turned to drugs.

4- Brand underwent rehabiliation services and underwent other "12 step programs". He has also credited meditation as a way of relieving some of his issues. 

5- Currently, Brand is 11 years sober and has become an activist for mental health issues. 3. Rowling had a divorce with her husband, she was only in her late twenties with a young child to provide for whilst on unemployment benefits.

4. Ms Rowling had been on the verge of suicide but started to go to psychology sessions and started writing her first harry potter book which gave her a purpose and was very successful.

2. For her depression, she believed that her substance abuse was simply because she was a drug addict, that it was something that she could not shake off. It turned out that as well as being an addict, and could admit that she was, she was depressed, and the substances that she used were simply ways for her to avoid the illness. Her usage of substances were a sign of her illness, even if at the time she was unable to notice. She also stated that some of the other symptoms of her disorder involved “sexual promiscuity [and] excessive spending". She also suffered from mood swings and sleepless nights as a teenager.

3. The factors that lead to Fisher's diagnosis of bipolar disorder stemmed from her substance abuse. She was diagnosed with bipolar disorder at the age of 24, but it wasn't until after she sobered herself up after dealing with a devastating overdose at the age of 28 that she was able to accept her diagnosis. 

4. Fisher's treatment involved sobering up from her substance abuses, and attending Alcoholics Anonymous meetings, and was quoted saying that she "felt like [she] had been banished to sit with a group of other misfits like [her]self ". She also said that by creating monologues or simply speaking and talking were things that were able to drown out the thoughts that would flood to her mind.

5. The outcome of Fisher's diagnosis was that bipolar was something that never left her. But, her mental illness was not something she was ashamed of.
