In his song "Happy" there is a lyric saying "Clap along if you feel like happiness is the truth." From what I hear, I can infer that Pharrell believes that a person can attain their true happiness when a person knows that they are being told the truth or they know that the truth is a good outcome. I believe that as a person, if you tell the truth, you feel a lot happier in the long run than lying to someone to make them stay happy. As a human, Pharrell is explaining that the truth is also better than a lie. What I took away from this quote is that my friends are the true reason why I stay happy and positive throughout out my life. This also showed me that a person needs to accept criticism and learn from it. After Jay Gatsby and Daisy had broken up, Mr. Gatsby believed that the only way that he could attain his true happiness was to have Daisy back and make everything seem back to normal before they had broken up. From what Jay Gatsby had done, I understand that people try to find their happiness in many different ways and it matters who they are as a person. Jay Gatsby could not find his true happiness because he could not believe the reality that him and Daisy will never be the same. Jay Gatsby is looked in New York as a person who throws parties every week to have fun, but in the book the reader can understand that he does not care about the parties all he wants is Daisy. I first asked my sister, she had said that since she dances every single day, she becomes happy when she gets into the studio. She also had said that she becomes will become happy from how she interacts with her friends. She says that when her friends are mad at her then she is sad in general. Secondly, I asked my mom the same question. She had taken a quick moment to think of what to say. I noticed that she could not describe what makes her happy. She told me that she had first thought how she is stressed out everyday because of her job, but she also told me that she is happy knowing that her kids are safe and that as a family we are very fortunate for what we have. I noticed from asking my mom and my sister that my sister attains her happiness everyday by thinking about herself and my mom attains her happiness by caring about other people and not about herself. This also showed me that people attain their happiness in different and by what age they are. A person who is older has experienced more. The next biggest part of the poll is that people are happy because they have good health. I believe that the reason why people are more happy when they are close to family because your family is who you made your memories through your whole life. Also when you are close to your family, they know the most about yourself. They can tell you anything and you can tell them anything. Another thing that I noticed is that only 3% of people are happy because they have money. He has become one of the most famous creators on Youtube. He mentions a lot in his videos that the "drive" that he has is working and that is what keeps him going. He is famous for saying "Work Harder" which I think means that the harder you work and the more drive that you have the happier will be in the future. Every single day he wakes up and is productive that is how he becomes happy every single day. I believe he attained his happiness by never stopping and believing in himself.
