When in the backstage view, under the open tab, the document or folder you would like to pin is under the recents tab you click the "pin", next to it pinning it to the top of the list, to unpin relick the "pin".

Go to the backstage view, go under the info tab, there will be a button named "conver" if you click it then the document will be converted to word 2013.

While in Word pressing the alt key turns on key tips pressing it a third time turns them off.

How do you recover documents.

While in word there will be a list on the left of the screen of documents that have been auto recovered, from here you select the document you want to recover.

How do you change file formats.

You go under the Save As tab under the backstage view, while saving at the very bottom of the popup there will be a pull down tab, from there you select the file type you want to change to.

How do you export files.

In the backstage view goto export, then select whether you would like to export it in the same file type or different, once you have done this remember to save it by clicking save as.
