Main means of communication is through crying and fussing, it is fairly common for the baby to not shed a single tear during a crying episode either

Typically sleep for 17-19 hours a day and gradually becomes more awake over time

Eats about 6 to 10 times in a 24 hour period (18-22 ounces of food)

Enjoys bath time and tends to be coo and be more alert during this time

Experiences 1-4 bowel movements a day

Although the main communication for a child is still crying, the child is now beginning to imitate speech sounds (cooing and babbling)

On average sleeps for 14-17 hours a day and is awake 2 or 3 periods throughout the day

The child may begin sucking their thumb during this stage.

Has 5 to 8 feedings a day and may eat more often if fed on demand

Mostly still enjoys bath times (kicks and splashing playfully in the water)

They now have 1 to 2 bowel movements a day (may skip a day)

True eye color is established during this time!

Teeth begin to erupt from the top and bottom gums

Child can now sit without support, is now also able to grab objects simultaneously

Child is able to respond when called by their name or when a simple command is given such as come here, eat, or wave "bye-bye"

Feeding times are now beginning to adjust to the family schedule, usually 3 to 4 feedings a day

Sleeps 11-13 hours, child tends to wake early in the morning and goes to sleep shortly after evening feeding

The anterior fontanel begins to close

About 10 teeth come erupt

The child is now beginning to pull themselves into a standing position, around this time they are approaching the milestone of walking

During this time they are also approaching the milestone of talking, so they tend to babble a lot more during social interaction in sentence like ways and can say words like "ma ma or da da" or like wise words

Eats 3 meals a day with snacks throughout the day and likes to eat with the family, during this time they are developing likes and dislikes of foods

Children around this age tend to go to bed willingly but may not fall asleep for a little while they tend to play in their cribs until they falls asleep, and they stay asleep usually until early morning. They tend to take one afternoon nap and the length of the nap varies from child to child.

Newborns have almost no real intentional or purposeful control over their actions, a lot of parental interpretations and the child is overall not very alert

One to 4 months gaining more purpose over their actions, parents gain an understand of the types of cries they baby is making, and they baby is beginning to be more alert

4 to 8 months the baby is beginning to experiences a lot of physiological changes, teeth growing, eyes change to their forever color, and is the child is aware of their surroundings

8 to 12 months is the time where a lot of the growths start to slow down but the big milestones of walking and talking are approaching and you are able to see the child begin to prepare for those moments
