Towards the beginning of the war her family moved to Germany. When the war started the girls would put up posters to go against Nazis. In 1941 Freddie and her sister joined a resistance group. The girls would walk around and charm soldiers. Then they brought them to the woods to shoot them. Truus was even known to kill a SS soldier. No one knows how many people the girls killed. Although we do know that the girls had trauma afterward which led to their death. The girls both died at 92.
