After reading his article it becomes clear how important the setting of the scenes is and the visual aspects. The producer turned the 1947 setting into a modern New Orleans which emphasises the relevance of the play. Because the settings were made very detailed the audience could easily follow what was happening throughout the play without being carried away by other effects. Lastly, Spencer outlines the importance of choosing the right character and how the actor’s character fitted with the ones in the play, makes it easier to understand the message created by Williams.

2) The above article is taken from The Guardian talks about the significance of Williams his in the play, mainly his heroine abuse. Furthermore, the article gives a detailed description about the characters and how they are seen on stage, making it easier to visualize and to identify characteristics which are useful to mention in an exam question (linking it to a play instead of a novel). Not only the characters are explained in more detail, but also the sounds are analysed by giving more background information from music at the time which can also be useful to mention to back up ideas linked to the context of the play. 
 
Lastly, there is an explanation of the title and how the title came to place, because initially the play was called “poker night.” Above that the characters are outlined in more detail and the article reveals emotions that the audience experienced while watching the play and what Williams his intentions were with the play.

This article gives different interpretations of Blanche from the perspectives of different analysts. There are arguments between Berkman, Brown and Thompson regarding Blanche. This is interesting as we can see what different people think of Blanche. For example, Brown does not pity Blanche and calls her "pathetic" however Berkman sympathizes with Blanche and pities her referring to her as a "misunderstood character."

This article talks mainly about one aspect of the play - The Rape of Blanche and it provides us with a critical analysis. However, this comes with a twist. It uses a modern feminist perspective to challenge the views of the 
audience regarding this issue. She lists the critics views on why the rape of Blanche occurred and below that she lists her feminist rebuttals. Again this give us new and interesting perspectives to the happenings in the play.
