There are three main sensory pathways that go to the brain, these include:

1. Visual: This sensory pathway are the learners that love lecture and to see visual aids for instruction. Graphs and charts on board are also
2. Auditory: Auditory learners prefer to talk out loud and listen. They also have strong language skills.
3. Kinesthetic: The best way for kinesthetic learners to retain information is by doing it with their hands. They love group projects and role-play.

All students can learn, but some learn differently through these sensory pathways. To make sure auditory, visual, and kinesthetic learners retain information, I will teach in a variety of ways throughout the day. An example for science class may include some lecture with some visual aids on the board. Then I would transition into presenting an assignment that involves an experiment that two students can do together. After the experiment is done, I would let them present a presentation of how their experiment went. This would allow all types of students to use their strengths.

Behaviorism is one of the educational philosophies that has the belief human behavior can be explained based on response to external stimuli. Most of these behaviors can be taught, changed, or modified. Behavior change goals should be specific, individualized, and focus on the child's environment.

To apply this theory in the classroom, I would make sure to provide positive reinforcement. I would like to do a start chart in my classroom that is big and bright on a bulletin board. Each day, there will be tasks throughout the day and when one student achieves one of my choosing randomly, they will earn a star. Stars would be added up to a certain amount to win a prize of their choosing.

Pragmatism is one of the four broad schools of thought that reflect the key philosophies of education. This philosophy believes that reality is constantly changing so we learn best through life experiences. The students in the classroom are always being changed by the environment.

Some examples of applying Pragmatism in the classroom would be hands-on problem solving, experimenting, group projects, and cooperative learning. These can all go hand and hand with each other when teaching. A specific example would be a science experiment, such as dropping a mento in Coke. The class would be grouped up or with a buddy. Each buddy could have a certain task to do and work on cooperative learning. They would make predictions about the experiment. Then make conclusions together on why the explosion of pop happened.
