Carr is an experienced workers’ compensation defense lawyer who serves as the managing partner and practice lead of the Workers’ Compensation Practice Group at Kalbaugh Pfund & Messersmith (KPM), an insurance defense firm headquarted in Richmond, VA. Also serving as vice president and shareholder, Claire C. Carr has defended thousands of cases on behalf of insurance carriers, large national corporations, and privately owned employers, among others. Ms. Carr began her career as a law clerk with the Supreme Court of Virginia and has additional experience in internship roles with Senior Justice Richard H. Poff and the Office of the Attorney General of Virginia. A founding member of the Virginia Workers’ Compensation Advisory Conference’s Steering Committee, she also serves on the Executive Committee of the Virginia Workers’ Compensation American Inn of Court where she has acted as programs' co-chair, treasurer, and currently is the recording secretary.
