(1) Discuss with your group, what do you read/ hear? Write down the words or phrases that stand out the most? Are there any you don’t understand? 

 (2) Describe how this person talks (accent) and the words they use (style of speech). What does this make you think about this person?
  • Where they grew up
  • What they wear 
  • How they interact with other people
  • How they spend their time 
Why do you say that? What words or phrases indicate this?

(3) Using the information you came up with in the last two questions, draw your imagined character. You can use phrases from the text as speech or thinking bubbles to support your ideas about the character’s identity and/or draw items that may relate to them and their identity.

(4) Once you have completed your drawing, write a short introduction for your imagined character to share with the class. Within your group, choose 2 presenters - one to hold the drawing and one to introduce themselves AS the character.
