figures of speech are used in this book such as: metaphors which is used to vivid and imagine images and scenes that the author is talking about in the book, so the audience can get a better understanding of whats going on.
1. a significance event that occurs in the book is when Jeanette talks about the time she flew out the car and her family almost left her behind forgetting about her, i think the authors purpose here is to help the reader get a better understanding of how clueless and careless Jeanette parents can be of her at times
  1. I think there is a relationship between the beginning and the end of the story because from the start it shows how jeanette and her family are always moving around from place to place like how her parents are still doing when she is grown and living by herself.

When jeanettes mom was driving, "[she] was only going 25", while trying to move the piano with a truck (52). This quote stood out to me because it shows how her mom could be childish at times she ended her saying with "oopsie daisy" which shows her imatureness

A way my family is similar like Jeanettes family is how sometimes, we can also show immaturity or break character in certain situations, for example when jeanettes mom broke the piano while trying to move it she said "oops daisy" and showed her immaturness i feel like sometimes my could be like this as well in an embarrassing situation

A way my family is like Jeanettes is by living in a

slightly toxic household although Jeanette and her

family are way more toxic than mine I can relate wtih

some of the things that happen in their household.

I think by depending on the readers age might internet the text the author is saying differently, depending

on the readers age he/she may not proccess what they have read correctly for example: sarcasm

if the author is being sarcastic a lot of younger readers won't be able to process that and in their head

they will think the author is just being for real about whatever context they are giving.

This quote stood out to me because; it shows how Jeanettes parents don't want to unfold the truth about the way they live, and want to sugarcoat the way they live and the stuff they do

A social issue in the glass castle is poverty, which is a huge problem the Wells family faces Jeanette's parents cant/ can hardly provide her and her sibling basic essential needs. Such as food sometimes they are left to eat the same thing for days. And shelter, they are constantly moving from place to place and the living conditions are not improving.
