Internal vs external review

Were there particular advantages in carrying out an internal review / evaluation rather than for example commissioning an independent external evaluation? Was it challenging to maintain good working relationships given the review must have felt ‘current’ and led to some difficult conversations when identifying lower value services/initiatives (even though you mentioned drawing a line under historical issues/challenges)

Core BCF funding vs Additional pooling
