1. The unemployed were treated poorly and people thought they brought the misfortune on themselves. Once people made no income and couldn't pay their dept everything was taken from them and they were dependent on themselves and some churches and charities to live. They could not depend on the government for help but only for some jobs.

2. The government was able to give unemployed people jobs such as building highways. At the start of the depression the government provided people with "reliefs" or temporary money to help people but the governments soon ran out of money and people no longer wanted to help and just said that things would fix themselves.

3. For transportation people took out the engines in their cars and had them pulled by horses or illegally rode on trains as "hobos" to go from town to town finding jobs. Government relief helped the unemployed people of Canada cope with the depression as well as charities that provided soup kitchens for people to get free food.

1. People in the Great Depression where treated very poorly. Many people were forced to spend nights on the street, hungry with little to no belongings.
2. The government provided the relief; the relief was to temporarily provide money to people who lived in towns and cities, it did not apply to single men or women.
3.The Liberals thought that the depression was just a phase. They thought what the economy was just going through something normal and temporary. A lot of people stole from stores, for food and clothes.

1- People during the great depression were treated as if being unemployed was their own fault because of their poor management. Asking the government for relief (economic help) was considered shameful.
2- The government tried to help people through something called "relief" it was meant to provide a temporary source of money for families that were unemployed. Soon, the government started running out of money and the prime minister decided not to continue with relief any longer, people in the government didn't think that the great depression was a serious crisis. Canadians demanded shelter and food for the ones who weren't able to afford it.
3- People started stealing in order to have their basic needs. For men in high places it became a criminal act to be poor. People traveled from town to town looking for a job.
