         <description><![CDATA[<div>Taking the time to model in the beginning of the school year can save time in the long run.<br>Show only the positive examples. Ask student for observations of their peers.<br>Explain the model and why you are doing it. <br>Start with simple modeling and then work your way up. Nothing is to small for modeling. <br>Pre-teaching may consist of modeling before teaching the content/ lesson. <br>Can revisit throughout the school year briefly. <br>This encourages mindfulness in their actions (look, sound, feel).</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Knowing when to be silent, being brief and direct is so important.<br>Not pitting students against one another on behavior is more powerful.<br>Having children tell the expectations rather than telling them is important.<br>Giving examples of the behavior not just respectful.<br>There does need to be a little balance between this type of speech and the non-"robotic" language.</div>]]></description>
