The reason why the play ends without ever taking us back to Christopher Sly and his predicament because the Lord and his servant men play a trick on Sly while he was drunk and showed him the play 'The Shrew' which got him into thinking now he can go home to his wife and be able to tam her as the older daughter Kate was in the play. Yet he doesn't know all of that was real he was to drunk to realize it wasn't a dream, but instead reality. Also why probably the play ended the way it did is because it has left many puzzled between the play 'A Shrew ' and 'The Shrew', that could be another reason why.
