Where do you see the future of user-generated content in the next 5 years?

In my opinion, the future of user-generated content (UGC) in 5 years will be the most useful marketing strategy for some brands in social media platforms e.g: Instagram, Facebook, Twitter or Youtube. Companies will use this opportunity to connect with their customers. Moreover, feedbacks through UGC are more persuasive than paid influencers. This is because consumers don’t feel like they are being pressured to buy a product if they are engaged through other consumers.

Furthermore, a lot of brand that are suitable for UGC will slowly switch to this marketing method, replacing the traditional media productions that enquire more costs. Therefore, more brands from the social platform will be highly dependant on UGC, or even conquered by it.

However, if marketers overused them, it could devalue their own content creativity. This will cause more people to judge their brand reputation and reconsider before purchasing.

Why do you trust or distrust the print newspapers?

I trust the newspapers to a certain extent because reporters and journalists work hard to gather information. Either it's high or low stake situation, they will put all their effort in producing a good and reliable content. Compare to the online news or source, printed newspapers are definitely more trustworthy. This is because there is too much fake information appearing on the internet.

However, there are still times where newspapers do exaggerate news which might affect the accuracy of reality. Furthermore, journalists will also make unintentional mistakes which is hard to be corrected or edited again after the newspapers are published to the public.

1. In my opinion, I think movie theatres will still exist in 2030 because movie theatre is a space where people can just focus and enjoy the movie. It gives a sense of accomplishment because you watched that film in a theatre instead of from home. The sound settings and visual quality from a theatre is definitely worth it. According to Dennis Lim from Indiewire (2019), there are still sizeable audiences who value theatre curation and engagement, so theatres are still important for watching experiences.

2. The broadcast networks will continue to lose viewers 10 years from now because most young people now don't watch tv anymore. This is because online streaming services has gained and changed our life drastically. They only depend on broadcasts networks for live news updates. However, there are still people who don't have the technology advancement depending on major broadcasts for information and entertainment. Therefore, that might be the reason why the broadcast companies are still surviving.

Compare traditional radio listening with listening to a station via mobile app. How are they different?

Traditional radio are limited on local stations, whereas listening via mobile app can involve more international stations. Songs in traditional radios are fixed by the radio hosts, audience has no choice but to listen to what the stations are playing unless they request for the songs they want.

As for listening to a station via mobile app, the experience is more flexible as they can listen anywhere with internet available. Audiences can choose or personalise the playlists or podcasts they want. For example in Spotify, they can browse for more different varieties of genres that they feel like listening to at that moment.

Compared to traditional radios, it also enhances the listening experience by displaying the details of the song such as: song title, artist name etc. If audiences missed anything, they can rewind back to the specific song or episode (Hugues, 2019).
