Dave Grohl is an incredible musician, having played in two of the most popular grunge rock bands, such as Nirvana and Foo Fighters. Although becoming a musician, Dave had a very interesting life leading up to this point. Even after multiple broken bones and being left in the middle of L.A., he always got back up on his feet and kept moving. I'll get back to those things in a minute, but first, let me show you about his younger life.

Dave grew up in Washington with his mom. Even at such a wee little age, Dave was intrigued by the sound of music. At a young age, Dave had a terriblele accident which surprisingly didn't really affect him at all. Dave saw some of his friends leave in their car and realized that he had nothing to do. A couple of hours later, he saw them returning and entering their backyard. Dave immediatley rushed out of his house and ran over to his friends. They were playing golf. After Dave had hit the ball, he noticed that the tee was crooked. So he decided to bend down and fix it when all of a sudden he felt the jolt of a golf club being smashed full force into the back of his skull. He eventually got up, sort of unfazed, and walked right home. He didn't want to freak his mom out but when she saw little him standing in the doorway covered in blood, she kinda freaked out. Dave was a local face to the hospital after breaking many bones, having many accidents, and getting injured over and over again. Once Dave had entered his teenage years, him and his mom would go to this jazz joint every Sunday afternoon and listen to great jazz music. That's when Dave decided that that was what he wanted to do for the rest of his life.

When Dave was entering his 20s, he joined a band called Scream. Even though they were lacking money, they were doing an amazing job touring. They would tour all over the world, switching from bus to bus in every different state they entered. One time while touring L.A., their bass player, Skeeter, decided that he wanted to catch a plane and leave them stranded with no money. No more money meant no more gigs, no more gigs meant no more music, and no more music meant no more tour. They eventually were able to stay with their guitarist and vocalist sister's house. They still had a lack of money; each one of them worked different jobs just trying to survive. Then, on one random day, Dave received a phone call from an old friend who asked him, "HAVE YOU HEARD OF NIRVANA?" Dave was at a loss for words, knowing that Nirvana was a great grunge band. They were looking for a drummer. Dave finally made up his mind and drove to Seattle, where he met Kurt Cobain and Krist, the guitar and bassist for Nirvana. Dave easily got the audition and was immediately asked to be the drummer for Nirvana. Nirvana is arguably one of the greatest grunge rock bands of all time, best known for their iconic song, "Smells Like Teen Spirit." However, on April 8th, 1994, Dave's life took a turn. Dave saw on the news that Kurt had passed away with an overdose in a hotel room in Rome. After Kurt's passing, Dave had no notion what to do. It seemed to him that everywhere he looked, he saw either Kurt's name or his face. After a few years, Dave concluded what to do. He recorded a solo album of songs that he had written when he was a young man. He always had an interest in UFOs and aliens. This led him straight to the name, "FOO FIGHTERS."

Once Dave started the Foo Fighters, his life kept getting better and better. He was so determined and always ready to play. One night in Sweden on a tour with the Foo Fighters, Dave did the most unforgettable, incredible thing anyone will probably ever see in the history of grunge rock. They were crushing their fast-paced song, "Monkey Wrench", when Dave decided to run from one side of the stage to the other. While doing this, his foot got caught on a cable that stretched across the stage. He thought that he would just jump and everything would be alright. That was not the case. He took a giant leap of faith while stumbling off stage and then, "CRACK!" He looked up at one of the security guards and said, "I JUST BROKE MY LEG!" Dave got carried backstage, where his tour manager, wife, daughter, and paramedics were waiting. Dave couldn't resist the feeling of letting all of his fans down and decided that he wanted to go back out and finish the set. The doctor said that it was broken, and if the tour manager let go, it would fall out of place after they reset it. Dave looked at his tour manager and said, "Looks like you're coming with me!" Dave finished the show with his tour manager holding his leg in place. Dave also had to go to the Hospital again later in his life for something that nobody would have ever thought. He told the doctor that he was having chest pains and he thought he was going to die. Turns out, Dave had been drinking too much coffee. Dave had been drinking 4 pots of coffee a day, which was the reason he was having all these chest pains. Life was picking up speed.
