These acts of violence show the aggression and dishonor that was shown by America towards Natives.

The Battle of Little Bighorn for example, was an occurrence in which General George Custer and his troops were defeated by a combined force of Natives. This event marked a turning point in the US government's campaign against Native Americans.

One of the most notorious massacres was the Wounded Knee Massacre in 1890. US troops opened fire on a group of Sioux, massacring over 150 people including women and children. This event highlights the dishonorable actions taken by America in this time period as they only took actions that helped themselves. regardless of who it hurt.

During this time, the Sioux tribes were forced off reservations, their traditional hunting grounds were destroyed, and their cultural practices were suppressed.

The Black Hills of South Dakota, which were sacred to the Sioux, were taken by force and taken to reservations where they were forced to abandon their nomadic ways. On top of that, boarding schools meant to assimilate Native boys to English culture were established. The government's expansionist policies and the discovery of gold in the Black Hills of South Dakota led to increased migration and presence on Sioux land,  leading to conflict between the two groups.

One of the most infamous examples of treaties being broken was the Treaty of Fort Laramie in 1868, which established the Great Sioux Reservation and guaranteed the Sioux control over the Black Hills. However, the discovery of gold in the Black Hills led to a rush of white settlers and miners, and the U.S. government began pressuring the Sioux to cede their land. In 1877, the U.S. government took control of the Black Hills, violating the treaty and causing significant tensions for the Sioux.

The growth of big business, the introduction of new technologies, and the exploitation of workers all played a role in the accumulation of wealth within a small elite. 

But because of low tax rates and other government policies that typically favored the wealthy, they were able to accumulate huge amounts of wealth with little monitoring. With the rise of big business and the accumulation of wealth, political power became tied with economic power, leading to a corrupt capitalistic system in which high ranking people wanted to do what they could to increase their wealth and power, even if that included corruption and collusion.

This corruption was once again facilitated by a lack of regulation and oversight, highlighting a disappointment and failure by the United States. The result of this political corruption was a system in which the interests of the wealthy and powerful were often placed above those of the general public, with laws and policies designed to benefit the few at the expense of the many, further creating imbalances between the top and bottom percent of people.

This very loose term created a separated public and forced black people to endure racism in any minor event that they partook in. Under Jim Crow laws, black people were subjected to discriminatory policies such as restrictions on voting rights, segregation in public facilities, and violence and intimidation from white supremacists. These laws were enforced by a range of state and local institutions, including law enforcement agencies, the courts, and political leaders.

This act, which stopped Chinese immigrants from entering the United States and prevented those already in the country from becoming citizens, had a large impact on Chinese immigrants and their families. Many were forced to leave the country, separating them from their loved ones and disrupting their lives. It can be argued for the case of the Indian Wars that white Americans and the government were only doing what they felt was necessary for white expansion. People can make arguments that the US Government is responsible for creating opportunities for its citizens, and since the Natives are not represented in that group of people, it provides logic for the government's actions.

The undeniable imbalance of opportunity and money in The Gilded Age also has its own set of counterarguments, with people arguing that the innovation made in technology, industrialization and economic opportunity is priceless. An argument can even be made that the imbalance was a small price to pay for the strides America took forward. 

As for the racism and oppression of the United States, it can be argued that the US was making positive steps forwards in this time and trying to right its wrongs with the passing of the 14th and 15th Amendment, allowing black people to be naturalized as citizens and vote. 

Regardless of the arguments, it is clear that a lot of the events from 1865-1898 show dishonor and should never have been done.
