There are four foods that boost immunity:
Yogurt
Yogurt contains helpful bacteria called probiotics. They
can improve the way your body uses food. But they're also
important in helping your body fight sickness.
Walnut
Walnuts have healthy Omega-3 fatty acids, which are good
for you in lots of ways. Experts believe that Omega-3 helps your body fight illness. One small study found that Omega-3 helps in minimizing the number of respiratory infections in kids. Walnuts are easy to sprinkle into a snack mix or on cereal.
Fruit and veggies
To help your immune system, look for ones that are high in vitamin C, like citrus fruit, strawberries, bell peppers, broccoli and sweet potatoes.
Lean meats
Lean meats are meats with a relatively low fat content, such as skinless chicken and turkey. They would boost your body’s disease fighting system. First of all, they have protein, which is important for keeping up strength. A healthy diet is very important through your pregnancy to nourish the
growing baby inside you. It is also important to eat nutritious food so
that your body is able to cope with the changes it goes through during
pregnancy. Here’s a guide to healthy eating in every trimester.
• First trimester
The first few months of pregnancy require a diet rich in folates. Folic
acid is an important addition to your diet. Include foods such as oranges,
sweet potatoes, legumes. You will also need calcium, so include dairy
products as well as other good sources of calcium are dark and green
leafy vegetables like broccoli.
• Second trimester
By the time you’re into the second trimester, your body needs an additional 300-500 calories per
day to help your baby grow. Add good fats such as avocado, salmon and fish liver oil in your diet.
And also make sure to include enough iron, meats, whole grain and dried fruits. Also, add a lot of
protein rich food like lean meat, fish, eggs, and eat sweet potatoes, whole wheat pasta, sweet corn,
seeds and nuts.
• Third trimester
For this crucial time, you’ll need these five nutrients: Vitamin C, calcium, magnesium, Omega 3
fatty acids and choline. In your third trimester, you must eat fresh fruit (berries, banana, melon
etc.), lentils, fresh green salad with radish, tomato, lettuce, beans and chickpeas. Make sure to drink
