         <title>Populist Party</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The Populist Party was a third political party which was organized by farmers. The rail road companies had been charging farmers extremely high shipping fees. This led to the creation of the Populist Party, a political party bent on stopping the rail road companies from abusing them. Though the party would not last long, They did eventually succeed, and the government began regulating big businesses, including the rail road companies.</div><div><br></div><div><br></div>]]></description>

He was one of Americas leading philanthropists.  He had given around 350$ million to charities, and had built thousands of libraries throughout his life, as a way to give back to the people.          <description><![CDATA[<div>George was an american inventor and industrialist. He is known best for inventing the sleeper car, as well as building his own town for his workers, which was known as Pullman. In 1994, there was a downturn in manufacturing demand. In order to save profitability, he lowered workers wages, and forced them to work long hours at the plant. These poor conditions eventually led to the event know as the Pullman Strike.<br><br></div>]]></description>

People needed another way of measuring time besides town specific clocks.  The new time zones provided what they needed. They proved to be an efficient way of standardizing time throughout the United States.<br><br><br></div>]]></description>
