The first thing for my teacher resource in learning about the life cycle of a sunflower is a world cloud.Using a word cloud is a great way for teachers to encourage children to start thinking about the chosen topic. This Word Cloud shows some initial concepts that children might have about the life cycle of a sunflower.
http://www.abcya.com/word_clouds.htm?utm_campaign=elearningindustry.com&utm_source=%2Fthe-8-best-free-word-cloud-creation-tools-for-teachers&utm_medium=link

The second step is to show the children a short YouTube clip on which clearly outlines the elements of the growth of the sunflower and things that the flower needs to grow. The teacher can make this an interactive experience by asking the children questions along the way and drawing there attentions to specific main events of the life cycle to increase interest and knowledge development.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mV6kP8yibf4

This is an interactive tool that allows the children to experiment with the elements that the plant need to grow and thrive. As the plant begins to grow the user needs to add water or heat to the plant. Too much/little heat or water can kill the plant. This exploration tool also gives tamariki opportunities to click around and see what each element of the tool does when it is clicked on.
http://www.sciencekids.co.nz/gamesactivities/plantsgrow.html
