Mitigation of soil erosion:

1. Maintaining a healthy, perennial plant cover.
2. Mulching
3. Placing crushed stone, wood chips, and other similar materials in heavily used areas where vegetation is hard to establish and maintain.
4. Building retaining walls on sloping land. A retaining wall at the base of the slope will block the creep of the soil and slow the collapse.
5. Bunding: is an engineering measure of prevention of soil erosion, used for creating obstruction across the path of surface runoff to reduce the velocity of running water.
6. Creation of windbreakers: evergreen trees are planted around gardens or land, to prevent the wind from blowing away the soil.
7. Avoid soil compaction: when people, animals or machine travel over the soil, they press the soil down causing it to compact. Due to compaction, water and air becomes difficult to penetrate the soil.

Information taken from:
Prevention of Soil Erosion: Different techniques with explanations (thefactfactor.com)

Reduce Soil Erosion (uri.edu)

The most basic and effective way to mitigate soil erosion is to maintain vegetative and ground covers, introducing plants that have deep, fibrous root systems that can hold onto soil well.
Increasing soil filtration to prevent water logging and runoff is also another way to prevent soil erosion. This is to prevent the constant detachment of soil particles and to maintain the soils structure.
Placing rocks on soils can also help mitigate soil erosion.

These are human activities which involves in cutting down of trees and removal of grasses to do their activities like building more houses which cause it to have less plants to hold their soils and make the soil more exposed ass well.
