Rome controlled so many cities because the romans defeated the carthagians, which gave them power to expand the empire and conquer many cities. The romans ruled between 
146 BC – 476 CE.

Latin and Greek were the dominant languages of the Roman Empire, but other languages were important regionally. The language of the ancient Romans was Latin, which served as the "language of power”
 
People and goods were transported by ships, Carts, Camels and wagons
-       Ships
Ships called carbitae were used to travel overseas. A carbitae was a very slow moving ship that carried very large cargo. This was a target for the pirates.
-       Camels
Camels were used for travelling in the desert where it was blazing hot. The camels were useful because they took a very long time to get tired and thirsty which meant that riders would travel long distances.
-       Carts
Carts were used for travelling on roads to shprt distances. They were usually pulled by 2 horses and could carry very limited cargo. The roads were very easy to travel on because every 20-30 kilometres there was a resting inn this meant people could travel up to 80 kilometres a day.
-       Wagons 
Wagons were a very easy way of transporting goods from one place to another. People used wagons if they had to trade with someone that was very close to their location. Wagons could carry a moderate amount of goods.

-       Water/river transport

At his circumcision, he was given the Hebrew name Saul.thinking that he was serving God, Saul became the worst enemy of Christians.Saul’s conversion occurred when he was on his way to the city of Damascus. He had gone to the high priest and the Sanhedrin for a commission to allow him to go where he knew there were many new Christians, to arrest them and take them back to Jerusalem for trial. The journey to Damascus took about two days by horseback.“They heard a voice from heaven that said: ‘Saul, Saul, why do you persecute Me?’ And Saul said, ‘Who are you, Lord?’ And He said, ‘I am Jesus, Whom you are persecuting; but rise and enter the city, and you will be told what you are to do.’ Then he rose and was baptized, and took food and was strengthened.” From that time forth, he was so well-known as a Pharisee and was now evangelizing for Christ, Saul began being persecuted by his Jewish brethren in the same way he had been persecuting the Christians. At some point he decided to start using his Roman name, Paul.

St Paul started from Antioch, he walk all the way up through Galatia, then to Phrygia to Ephesus where St Paul stayed for a three years then all they way up to an area called Macedonia Then back another boat all the way down Corinth then all the way back up to Macedonia, then on another boat to Troas, assos as well to Mitytene then to chios, miletus, cos down to Rhodes, then patara then once again back across the Mediterranean sea then all the way to tyre then all the way down to ptolemeaus, caesarea and finally back to Jerusalem again. St Paul travelled 27,00 miles, he did the same amount of travelling as if you walk across America three and a half times without cars or trains or planes just using two fee and a boat here and there.

Chantellemcevoy2002 https://padlet.com/Chantellemcevoy2002/6fs6t3b3qwwi/wish/138931180 The purpose of St Pauls letters was to preach the gospel/stories of Jesus to the gentiles some of the main message of the epistles were; meaning of Jesus, life, death and resurrection, The big picture was; God is faithful to promise made to Israel and all creation .
St Paul’s letter also talked about the status of the Jewish law also what is required of gentiles who wanted to become Christian. Paul also mentioned how he felt honoured that he had been challenge and how he had to defend himself.

Chantellemcevoy2002 https://padlet.com/Chantellemcevoy2002/6fs6t3b3qwwi/wish/138931279 The culture challenge for Paul was if a male wanted to be Christian they had to be circumcised in order to be Christian, Paul didn’t agree with the process of conversion for male gentiles to Christianity. Paul said that that he felt his honour had be challenged and he had to defend himself.

But sadly happiness lasting for such a short time. But something else, St Paul find joy in the difficult circumstances by hi, understanding the true joy comes from the gospel-first relationship, goals, desires as well as conduct. This true joy come from pursuing gods wholeheartedly, but also giving ourselves away to dwell on the good. 
 
This message has applicable to individuals and groups of people because there are more people in today society finding happiness and joy through the hardest or in the little thing every day.
