Information I found to be interesting is the high level of schizophrenics (diagnosed) or those with schizotypal delusional behaviours. Gathering factual data on these issues is a difficulty in Thailand due to many cultural reasons such as religion and family pride. There are also no day treatment facilities in psychiatric units, only community based ones. Also in the last five years the number of mental hospital beds has decreased by 7%
