I took a picture of these Japanese maple leafs. The main subject in this picture is of the leaf in the center. The rules of composition I used were leading lines and viewpoint because the veins in the leafs lead your eyes around the photo. The positioning of the photo is important too because it shows the blurrier leafs in the background. The photo has good contrast because you can see the darker veins, the different shades of green on the leafs and some red at the bottom of the leaf. I used white balance on the background to make the leafs stand out more. I used photoshop to change some of the color levels, contrast, color tones and exposure.

In this photo, I used the composition of leading lines from this plant's spikes to bring the attention to the center of the image. This being said, I also applied the elements of line and texture to create contrast here. The background is a very soft white that looks a little blurry while the subject is a sharp dark green. The focal point itself also has a few different green values within itself; being lighter on the tips of the lines and darker in its center. In the background, there is also a lot of dimension and different shadows which helps make it appear more 3D and realistic rather than having it be flat and white. In photoshop, I enhanced the green of the plant to make the color brighter, but my main edit was changing the white balance of the background. Before this edit, the background was much more yellow and therefore stood out much less against the green plant.

In this photo I used the light source to really highlight the subject of the photo, the car. I also used the angle i took the photo from to show depth of field of the car and make it almost look like it's in action. I like how my image contrast and light turned out after editing it in photoshop because originally it was a little dark. Then i fixed the levels and made it brighter to add highlights to the background which worked hand in hand to highlight the subject as well. One thing I really like about my image it the clearness of the car with it being the main subject i feel like that is it really important to see all the details and I feel that it portrayed very well here. Overall my I really like what I made with this image and I hope my audience can enjoy it also.

I took a picture of a glass orb with a leaf behind it. The subject of the image is the leaf in the middle of the orb. When I first took the picture it was lacking color as it was too yellow and there were objects in the backround that didn't make the glass orb stand out. I used viewpoint with the vibrant colors to draw the viewers attention to the orb and the leaf in the middle.

In this photograph I used the element of color which is very clearly demonstrated as the bright pink color of the apple makes it pop out from the light pink and white background which demonstrates that the apple is the focal point of the photograph. In my photograph I used symmetry as my rule of composition because each side of the apple is extremely similar, almost a duplicate on each side. The only difference is that the apple is tilted. My image has good contrast because the dark pink apple contrasts well with the light pink/white background which makes the apple pop. It has a wide range of values in the photo from white to light pink to medium pink to very bright pink which enhances the focal point of the apple. In my photo there is detail in highlights as the transparent parts of the apple are highlighted with the light coming through. The midtones of the pink wrinkles in the background add much more detail to the photo and makes it much more interesting. I used photoshop to change this from "taking" to "making" a photograph by changing the Color Balance of the midtones and highlights on the photograph to be pink which made the photograph brighter, more abstract, and more interesting while still keeping the transparency of the apple and the light coming through it. I also used the levels tool to change the background of the apple to become white instead of the brownish color that it was before and using the Color Balance I changed its color to pink. I also changed the Hue of photograph to make it more bright pink. By doing all these tasks in photoshop I "made" the photograph.

I used the elements of black and white contrast to show the details of the leaves. When it comes to the composition I sed rule of thirds to have the focal points on the main focus of the leaves. When it came to adjusting the image I brightened and added contrast to make the back white but keeping parts of it black. The shadows keeps it from being too open in the back of the image. I wanted it this way to create balance.

The element of photography I used in this artwork is, the element of texture. In my photo I feel like their is so much texture and I wanted the viewer to visualize and feel like they could almost feel the apple and it's rougher texture. A rule of composition that I included in this photo was, I filled the frame almost completely, to keep the viewers eye on the focal point. I also used a unique angle to capture the whole essence of the subject. I believe my photo does include a good contrast and range between light and dark colors. For example, the outside of the apple is dark red and the background is bright so it enhances the focal point as well as draw the viewers eyes in. The image is clear, and as you can tell by looking in the apple you can see all the veins popping out of the apple. In the original photo it was hard to see them, but in photoshop I enhanced the image so that they could pop out of the apple.
