Our ambassadors will attend various Coventry events to represent St Elizabeth’s and the City of Coventry. Their first engagement will be at this years Coventry Remembrance Service at War Memorial Park in November.

We look forward to more of our children becoming ambassadors in the future and providing a positive young voice and representation of our school and city in the near future!

Praying the rosary together, whether at home or in school, strengthens unity in the Church and amongst peoples. We are all called to form one family across borders and the rosary is a universal prayer that straddles and unites nations.

Our Y6 children shared the enormous difficulties many Christians around the world face for their Christian Faith. This persecution forces many to move from their homes. We pray for those persecuted for their faith around the world. 🙏🌍

A group of Year 6 visited Year this Wednesday morning to deliver a brief (Stop, Drop & Pray) prayer service as part of our Red Wednesday focus.

Well done children!

They have also brought money in to buy a cake from the Year 6 bake sale.

We discussed and reminded ourselves that a value is the rule and a virtue is the quality of doing what is right.

The prayer service which was planned by the Year 4 Chaplaincy Team was a reading about 'Giving to the needy' from Isaiah's Gospel. The class drew something they would like to share with others and we discussed this. Our mission is to be kind to our world this week.

We listened to the story of 'God calls Moses'. We responded by discussing the story and shared our views around the question 'If you were Moses, how would you respond to God?'

Year 1 have been thinking about all the incredible things God created. They were asked, as homework, to go on a walk and bring to school something they found that God had created.

Today Year 1 recalled all they had learnt in Reception about Advent. We then decorated the word Advent using purple materials at purple is the liturgical colour for Advent.

The children are in non-uniform today and have raised an amazing £400 for Father Hudsons Caritas, Cafod and Aid to the Church in Need! Wonderful generosity during our Lenten fundraising. Thank you parents, carers and families!! 🌹

The KS2 Chaplaincy Team led us beautifully in The Angelus today and will continue to throughout the month of Nay in honour of our Blessed Lady, Mary.

The children have worn non-uniform to raise funds to support their journey and they will share our prayer intentions at the Lourdes Shrine.

We have also changed our prayer cloth to red in readiness for Pentecost 🔥

Parish Pilgrimage -1180 miles

Pilgrims of Hope - Parish pilgrimage ‘Our road to Rome’ We are going to walk the distance between St Elizabeth’s Church and St Peter’s Square in Rome. This will be a total of 1180 miles.

Through developing our children’s empathy and understanding of these themes, we are preparing our children for their later lives and also linking Our Lord’s central Gospel message of ‘love your neighbour’ regardless of who your neighbour is. 🌹😊

Year 5 children then wrote some lovely poems about life as a refugee after listening to the hardships of being an refugee and an asylum seeker. 🧡🙏🌍

Refugee Week - last week, we had The Stories of Hope & Home visit for our junior classes but today we starting 'Refugee Week' across the whole school with a shared assembly. Our children shared in a Moomins video, helping them to reflect on some of the reasons people are displaced from their homes and how we should always show empathy, compassion, love and friendship to those in need... our door is always open! 🌹🙏🧡

Reflecting on the recent news, we are looking at the words and life of Ghandi to guide us during this difficult time.

We reflected on the importance of prayer, social action & fundraising and also renewed the Jubilee Pledge and reflected on how we can all be Pilgrims of Hope. 🙏🌹

Four children attended Lady Godiva Day in the City Centre of Coventry today.

During assembly, we have reflected on her life and how she taught us to do things with love in our life. “Do little things with great love.”

Year 5 enjoyed attending Fan the Family Pilgrimage with Dan and Emily.

97% of Earth’s water is sea water and only 1% is fresh water.

We have also spotted the difference between wasting water and saving water.

Children had a better understanding on what Pilgrimages are and why people take the journey.

Teacher led class Prayer Service

Today is the feast day of the Immaculate Conception of Mary.

Children led a fantastic prayer service for parents, we collectively created new prayer intentions for prayer times.

Secondly, focusing on an Anti-bullying theme. We have discussed our trusted adults and how young people can change the world.
