In the story "Where the Wild Things Are" by Maurice Sendak, the wild things cry "Oh please don't go - we'll eat you up - we love you so!" And Max replies "No!" (pg. 20)

This piece of dialogue shows me a lot about the wild things AND Max. I learn that the happiness of the wild things is very dependent on Max and they are in need of a leader and a caretaker. I learn that their way of having fun is only temporary and does not bring them meaning that lasts. I learn that Max has come to realize what is really important to him - his family.

This shows that Melinda is disconnected from everyone. That she's the person nobody knows, the one who goes day in and day out being unseen. Everybody has feelings, you can't just close yourself off. That's when you find yourself thinking, who are you? Nobody can make their reputation, others do that for you. Silence slowly breaks into places of unknown, places to be unseen, places you never want to be.

In my book Thirteen Reasons why by Jay Asher on page 34 tony says "Where you off to?" God I hope he's not on the list. But what if he is? What if he already listened to the tapes and knows exactly what's going on in my head?" This quote tell me that clay is nervous because he's questioning if tony knows about the tapes too.

This tells me that she keeps quiet to avoid getting in trouble, but that doesn't help her much cause she gets in trouble anyways. She needs to learn how to speak up.

This shows that Hannah is annoyed that the other guy is just now, after weeks of being ignored, asking why she isn't saying hello

I feel the weight of the Walkman in my backpack.
"I was just walking by and saw you outside. Thought I'd say hi."
His eyes stare a little too long...
This conversation shows the fear of Clay having the cassettes public. Clay doesn't want Tony to know about the tapes in fear of shame or of the fact of Tony being apart of the tapes.

On page 34 it says "Where you off to?" God hope he's not on the list. But what if he is? ..."Nowhere," I say. I put my hands in my pockets, too. "So, you know, I'll see you tomarrow." Clay seems really nervous when Tony asks him where he is going. Clay is scared to even wonder if Tony is on the list and he is disappointed that he, himself is on the list.

In the story "Th1rteen R3asons Why" by Jay Asher, Hannah says "I did make a copy of these tapes. Those copies will be released in a very public manner if this package doesn't make it through all of you... You are being watched."

On page 28 someone said to her "my brother got arrested at that party. He got Fire don't because of the arrest. I can you believe you did that (beep)." An drew she just shook her head and didn't no say anything. This shows that she doesn't talk a lot and maybe that she is embarrassed about calling the cop she at the party's. also she might regret calling the cops because no one likes her anymore.
